Description

I love visiting new places and being exposed to different ways of life and languages. Growing up my parents helped to instill a love of traveling in me and now I want to continue that in my adulthood. I finished university with degrees in International Relations and Spanish in 2020 and spent a year living in Hawaii afterwards. I worked as a barista and spent my free time at the beach, learning how to surf, hiking, and sharing meals with friends.

I have been traveling for the last 2 years mostly in Europe and now am in Asia. Along the way I have done different workaways and been able to meet lots of amazing people, learn new skills, and explore different parts of the world along the way. Some experiences that stand out are working at a hotel in the mountains of Albania, learning about beer brewing in the south of France, and walking 800km of the Camino de Santiago in Spain.

It has always been important to me to keep busy and always be learning. I love reading, drawing, crafting, and playing guitar or ukulele. One of my favorite parts of traveling is being able to learn and use another language. I studied Spanish all throughout my schooling. For fun during Covid I learned a little French and 2 years ago began studying Italian before I moved there to apply for citizenship. Through a workaway I picked up a little Albanian and now I am attempting (and struggling) to learn a bit of Mandarin. I also really love to walk and often opt to walk for hours instead of catching a ride or using public transportation. While traveling it has been a great way to see things that I might have missed or overlooked.

I am an adaptable person and am ready to learn new skills. Currently,
I am in Taiwan and am on the lookout for where I head next :)

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I studied International Relations and Spanish in university. I have a passion for learning about new places, cultures, and languages. I speak English, Spanish, and am currently learning Italian. I also know the tiniest bit of French.

When I was in university I worked for the Orientation program for the school and that taught me how to meet new people, organize and plan, and work in customer service. I also have experience working as a research assistant in the Political Science department. This last year I worked in a popular cafe in Hawaii and learned all the positions, but spent most of time working as a barista and trainer. I am really interested in learning more about coffee, especially how it is enjoyed in different places around the world.

Last year, I did a workaway at a hotel in Albania and learned about all the elements it takes to run one. Responsibilities included housekeeping, preparing meals, checking in and assisting guests, gardening, etc. Every day brings new small challenges to overcome, so you learn to be adaptable and a problem solver.

Generally, I love to learn and be creative so I am willing to be thrown into new situations and grow from them.
