Hejj!
I'm Karlotta from Norway, and I'm currently planning to go backpacking through Asia during my gap year. This journey is something I've been dreaming about for a long time. For me it’s not just about seeing new places, but about stepping out of my comfort zone, connecting with new people, and learning about daily life, traditions, languages, and cultures along the way.
I’m especially drawn to nature, food culture, traditional crafts, and sustainable ways of living.

I'm a naturally curious and enthusiastic person, full of energy when it comes to discovering new places and experiencing different ways of life. I get really excited about the small things — whether it’s trying new food, stumbling upon a hidden gem, or hearing someone’s story over a cup of coffee. I’ve always been someone who brings good vibes into new spaces, and I really enjoy meeting people and learning from them. Friends and people I’ve worked with often describe me as kind, trustworthy, and I take pride in being organized and reliable.

My hobbies include things like cooking, hiking, photography, and getting lost in nature. I find a lot of joy in working with my hands and learning through doing — whether that’s in the kitchen, the garden, or helping with creative or practical tasks. I’m always eager to pick up new skills and happy to help wherever I can.

What draws me to Workaway is the opportunity to go beyond just being a visitor. I want to connect with people, be part of real life in the places I travel to, and offer something meaningful and of value in return. I’m excited to meet new people, exchange stories and being part of projects that reflect kindness, openness, and shared purpose.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Through highschool I've had serveral jobs that have given me valuable skills and experience. For example I have worked in a cafe and restaurant, but also as a judo coach for kids. I would say that I am a quick learner with a strong work ethic and a positive attitude.

At home i am enjoy helping my family with gardening, cooking or cleaning. I’m very comfortable in the kitchen and love preparing meals for others. I’ve also helped care for animals and enjoy spending time outdoors doing physical tasks. I’m a trustworthy and organized person, and I always take pride in doing a job well — whether it’s creative work, practical tasks, or simply lending a helping hand where needed. I’m enthusiastic about learning new skills, open to feedback, and happy to work independently or as part of a team.
