Hello! I am a recent university graduate from Minnesota, USA. I majored in math and chemistry, and would love to share my knowledge of those subjects as well as my minor knowledge of baking, books, and photography.
I'm looking to travel around Europe this Winter/Spring, and I think doing work exchanges is a great way to do this! I am a quick learner, and have had a wide variety of jobs such as construction, restaurant host, summer camp counselor, newspaper photo editor, and salmon boat cook and deckhand.Centres d’intérêt

EXPERIENCE
For labor-focused work, I did two years of construction around 5 years ago. This included some framing, as well as finishing work such as painting, cabinets, and landscaping. I worked summer 2020 as a window washer on cabins. In summer 2021, I worked on a salmon fishing boat for about a month. I was the cook and deckhand. This was an incredibly exciting job, but quite strenuous.
I currently live on a hobby farm, so I have experience with animals and barnyard work. I have helped capture escaped sheep and horses, put up fences and repaired them, and have even helped butcher a sheep.
For people-focused work, I was a restaurant host for a summer. Here I helped seat people, clear tables, and take phone calls. In summer 2019, I worked at a summer camp. I was with a cabin of around 10 kids where I got to supervise them, plan activities, and keep them on their schedule. This was one of my favorite jobs. I was also a resident assistant for three semesters of university—living with first-year students. I mostly worked the front desk and dealt with conflicts that arose.
For other work, I was a newspaper photographer throughout my university studies. Two of those years were spent as the paper's photo editor. I mostly took sports pictures for our school's teams, but also general events on campus and assorted random happenstances.
I love working with animals, people, and working on projects. I have personal experience in gardening, teaching, and baking. I also love to learn, and am open to any task set before me!Âge

But really, I immensely enjoyed my short time in this tiny mountainous village. I think it is unlike any other Workaway experience you could find as the village as a whole is very involved.

I was very welcomed there, from the moment I was picked up in Angers. I got to work alongside most of the family at various times (usually the whole family came to help on the weekends), though I was mostly working with Charlotte. The tasks I did were largely manual in nature—moving rocks, raking… read more
