Hey everybody! My name is Jared. I'm 30 years old and from the States. I've been lucky enough to spend the last few years using workaway to volunteer and experience some awesome new things! I've found a nice rhythm of spending the summers back home in the States (working as a mountain guide) and winters backpacking/volunteering in Central and South America. I'm usually starting my trips solo so making new relationships and finding good hearted people is always high on the priority list for me! This year I really want to learn more about permaculture and gardening! I'll be headed back to Guatemala where I've been able to lay down some nice roots! :) I believe in being kind and good vibes and like to surround myself with people who do too. Before my traveling years, up until I was 25 I was an electrician on geo thermal power plants. I felt a bit lost and miserable so I decided to sell everything and spend 6 months hiking 2,600 miles, from Mexico to Canada on the Pacific Crest Trail. It was one of the most beautiful experiences of my life and I've been on such a good path and journey ever since! I've gained a lot of good skills. I love spending time in nature, getting my hands dirty, and growing from new experiences.
A few quick things about my interests:
I love hiking and the peace that nature brings me.
I really want to learn about gardening/self sustaining/agriculture. I would love to spend all day in a garden!
I'm looking to learn and practice my Spanish!
I love music and I bring my guitar everywhere

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I'm a mountain guide on the Tahoe Rim Trail and I usually work as a server/bartender when I'm back home in the States. I have great customer service skills. I've also worked as an electrician in residential, commercial, and industrial build projects. Most of the time if it has to do with construction I can be a great help. I'm learning Spanish and would consider myself 'conversational' level. I laugh a lot and I don't really get worked up too often which has always been one of my greatest attributes. If being easy going is a skill, I got it. I think I would really enjoy gardening based jobs/duties. I would love to learn as much as I can!
