Hello everyone!

My name is Jacob. I am originally from Ireland but recently relocated to Huanchaco, Peru with my partner.

I've used Workaway in the past, and have always found my experiences to be incredibly rewarding - and I'm hoping to use it now to network and develop new skills.

I am a chef by trade, having spent 8 years working in restuarants in the UK and Ireland, most recently having run my own fresh pasta concept. I am also a certified English teacher, which is a change of pace but something I find really interesting and enjoyable.

I love to read and spend a lot of my time outdoors (hiking, climbing, running usually). I love working with animals, gardening and generally existing close to nature.

I have experience volunteering on farms, in stables and as part of construction and restoration projects.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I am a trained chef, so I can always be put to good use in a kitchen. I have a wide-ranging knowledge of different styles of food and types of cuisine.

I grew up around animals and have a good understanding of how to care for animals.

I also have a decent knowledge of basic gardening/horticulture, but this is something I am always willing to learn more about!

I'm used to working with my hands and can carry out basic maintenance jobs/construction, as well as painting and decorating work.
