I have been blessed to be using Workaway since 2015 during my travels of South America. I’m a nature lover and animal lover with a big passion for exploring new areas and playing outside!

I am a qualified commercial Pilot but life has always led me elsewhere. I have over 15+ years experience in hospitality and tourism .

In November 2015 I quit my hostel job and backpacked, hitchhiked and volunteered my way around Brazil, Argentina, Chile and Uruguay for about 6 months. It was probably one of the most incredible experiences of my life. I had the joy of volunteering on two permaculture farms when I was in Chile and the love, peace and harmony I felt there has been such a guiding light in my life. Since then I worked in a fishing village in Scotland, saving to travel and volunteer on a 9 month journey across the USA and Canada. Then I spent the next 2 years working and travelling around Australia.

I went back home to South Africa in 2019 to care for my father, who had extensive cancer. I cared for him, with my mom, for 2 years until he passed. This changed a lot of my views in life and really helped me mature and understand the truly important things in life : Family. After this I spent more time with high school friends who had children, taking them to parks, walks along the seaside, trips to the aquarium and playgrounds or just hanging out in their home.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I have a can-do attitude, learn fast and equally enjoy being around people and having my own space. I used to be into weightlifting but have recently transitioned into daily Tai Chi and walks in the park. I’m currently studying RTT and have a passion for wheel throwing pottery! I love learning new things and encouraging others to pursue what brings them joy and lights them up! I’m an excellent listener and give people the space to be their full authentic selves. With so many years in hospitality I am at home in the kitchen and enjoy cooking for others and myself. The cleaning up after is just as much a part of it. I am calm and level headed in any situation.
