I work seasonally in one of the UKs surf spots down in Cornwall. I'm always happy to greet travellers to the area and help out with local connections while I'm planning my next trip in the off season.

Description

Hello, I am Kie. I'm originally from North Wales but now live in Cornwall in the United Kingdom. I have explored much of my own country but I am keen to see more of the world over the next few years.

I studied journalism and marketing at University but have since worked in a busy surf rental shop and cafe on the beach in Polzeath. I have been trying my hand at surfing, but I am passionate about motorcycles and animal care.
My goals from volunteering overseas involve immersing myself in new cultures and improving my skills in animal management and care for career plans in the future. I would also love to write about the experiences I have in a way that can inform and encourage others to take part in similar adventures.

I am a competent dog handler, I have knowledge of farm animal husbandry and a calling for creatures of all shapes and sizes. Having helped to manage an animal sanctuary in Sri Lanka whilst the owner was away for a month, I am very confident in my abilities to work with reactive, disabled and animals of very specific needs in a trustworthy, careful and independent way.

I am clean, tidy and practical. I have lived independently for fifteen years and take very little to maintain. I would pride myself on being respectful to both the country and the home you choose to invite me into.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I have volunteered with animals my whole life, I have some very basic veterinary &husbandry knowledge of household pets, I have helped train assistance & rescue dogs and I have volunteered in a shelter for the rehabilitation of disabled and ex-street dogs.
Degree level in Journalism, skilled at writing and speaking the English language.
I am a self-employed marketing agent by trade and can provide assistance in website development, social media content and digital design for restaurants, accommodation, shops and experiences. I am keen to write about my experiences in a way that benefits the hosts and their business goals.
I have ten years of experience in the hospitality trade, ranging from running a small pub to hosting grand venues at VIP events.
I am a competent labourer, with several years of experience and a basic knowledge from working as a tree surgeon's assistant at a nature reservation.

I am truly passionate about animal care, welfare & husbandry. I am experienced in working alongside and training large and challenging dogs from difficult backgrounds. I have volunteered with vets, farms, nature reserves and charities that solely focus on animals and their lives with the goal of one day having a career where I work with animals.
I have experience with dogs, cats and bird (pets and fowl) - however I am very keen and willing to get involved with animals of any shape and size doing whatever is required of me to improve my knowledge of the tasks at hand.
