Hello! My name is Isobel and I am 20 years old. Having finished further education in the UK I took a gap year, backpacking 4 months across Australia and New Zealand as well as working full time to help my future prospects within healthcare. After working 6 months in care, myself and a friend from work travelled through Central America and Colombia together, volunteering at a jungle hostel in Tayrona National Park before returning home. Since then, I have worked numerous jobs within pubs as a bartender/ waitress, as well as working at festivals with a glamping company, and now I have returned to care before I begin further travels. I am friendly, kind and hard working and I am eager to gain new experiences and learn new cultures with a variety of hosts. I love meeting new people, sharing stories and having good conversations, as well as hiking, swimming, exploring, journaling, reading and being creative.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I am an organised, tidy and reliable person. I love being outside, my family often enjoyed camping and river boat holidays, where I learnt how to work the locks on canals. As a youngster I used to ride horses with friends, I still love being surrounded by animals and pets. I enjoy hiking, gardening, pilates, yoga, sports, upcycling, cooking, baking; overall I am a very creative person with a passion for journaling, scrapbooking, knitting and sewing too. I have experience in a variety of jobs: from a weekend job in customer service during college, to working as a Care Assistant in an elderly care home, to waitressing and bartending, to labour intensive jobs such as building and breaking down tents in all weathers, and to the not so pleasant jobs such as cleaning festival toilets and showers. This has developed my confidence to handle a variety of environments and situations, which has enabled me to become a more positive and well-rounded individual, while being more outgoing and charismatic towards people. Alongside paid work I have volunteered in primary school classrooms, assisting and encouraging children’s learning, as well as volunteering abroad teaching English to students in Tanzania, building strong friendships with my peers while developing teamwork skills and confidence in my abilities.

Overtime, through my travels and variety of jobs, I have learnt that I love spending time with friends and meeting new people, playing games, singing and dancing to music together. I also value being independent and pushing myself out of my comfort zone, which has resulted in a better understanding of myself, my hobbies and how I spend my time.
