Description

Hello, My name is Işın! It means a line segment with a definite beginning and an unknown end. I think that it suits me really well. Because I don't know what awaits me in life and I love this feeling of uncertainty& freedom. As much as I love these feelings, I also love the perks of being in a settled life such as sleeping at the place I call home, spending time with my family and friends in the places we always go.

I live in Istanbul. I work as a Project Manager in a NGO called the Sustainability Steps Association. We aim to increase awareness on sustainability in Turkey. I started working here shortly after I got my degree in political science. Now, I feel that it is time for me to leave my comfort zone and experience different things, meet new people, listen to their stories and have some memories. I will be coming to New Zealand in December as a working holiday visa holder. I am really excited for this once in a lifetime opportunity and I look forward to what life will bring me!

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I had the chance to volunteer for a short time on a organic farm with chickens, goats, and dogs. I helped with cooking and cleaning, I took care of their animals. Also, I had the opportunity to help them by planting and harvesting vegetables and fruits.

Other than that, I'm always open and willing to learn new things, working outside and do physical work where my hands are getting dirty!

I am a calm, kind-hearted, empathic and fun person. At least that's how my friends would describe me.

I love being in nature. I believe that it helps me to connect better with Earth. Things that makes me happy; witnessing a beautiful sunset, getting away at the sea alone, hiking, having breakfast (if you've ever had a Turkish breakfast, you know what I mean), watching one of my comfort movies, cooking for my loved ones, gathering around a crowded table, slow weekends, discovering new musicians.

I am passionate about cooking and baking. I love trying new recipes, especially from Lebanese cuisine. When I'm stressed out, cooking keeps me in the flow.

Also, I love seeing new places, meeting new people, get to know them better and their culture. I've stayed in France for 9 months where I went with the Erasmus program. During this time, I visited 10 countries. I made friends from many parts of the world that I’m still keep in touch with.
