Hello ! My name is Océane, I'm a 25-year-old French girl who is discovering the joy of travelling. I have just finished my studies in cognitive science and I have only one desire : to discover the world when I'm not working.

I'm a very curious person and I dream of meeting people from all over the world so they can tell me their stories. My first trip was to Reunion Island in September 2022, so I am a young traveller. Since then, I have travelled across Europe on an Interrail pass for three weeks, but I dream of going further.

My friends describe me as a cheerful, good-humoured person who is always willing to help others. I spend my free time volunteering in cultural sector (mainly film and music festivals). I really need to feel useful.

Due to a fear of school, I missed a lot of language classes during my studies. I still have a good level of English thanks to travelling abroad (I make mistakes sometimes but I have always managed to make myself understood), but I would like to improve. And I'm also interested in learning a new language!

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Throughout my studies, I worked part-time, so I am able to organise myself between different tasks. My student jobs were mainly in museums (aquarium museum and contemporary art museum) but also in university librairies. I also worked in secondary schools to help students before they started university. I am therefore comfortable speaking in front of an audience.

Thanks to my studies, I have strong kills in IT, communication and web design. In France, I am a work-study project manager, so I know how to organise and plan events, manage a team and be proactive when necessary. I have also been the communications officer for the Red Cross in my city, so I know how to manage social media and create content.

My volunteer work has made me comfortable welcoming and guiding the public, providing them with information when necessary, and I also have experience working at a cash register.

I have also been doing extra work in a concert hall and a nightclub for four years, so I know how to serve beer like a pro 😎

When it comes to travelling, I often organise everything at the last minute because I like to live day by day. Two years ago, I went on a three-week Interrail trip around Europe. I organised everything myself, from accommodation to activities and transport. I had to deal with some unexpected situations, but I always managed to sort things out without any problems. I also travelled to Iceland on my own last year, a trip that I organised myself.

My mother tongue is French, but I speak English fluently (even though I still make a few mistakes, but I have always been understood when travelling abroad). I have some knowledge of German, but I would like to get back to a good level. I would also like to learn new languages!
