Description
Hello, I am Guanxian Stefan (27) from Taiwan. I love learning languages and knowing about perspectives, cuisines, amazing histories, and all those goods and bads in different cultures. I am going to have an internship at Universita Palackého for a year teaching the Mandarin language, so I hope before that, I could have a concentrated, immersive experience with the language and culture in Czechia, hopefully in Olomouc. I am ready to integrate into the beautiful culture in Olomouc.
And I thought of Workaway. I have done this once roughly ten years ago. My friend and I were helping with some logs and babysitting on a beautiful family field in Graz, Austria. It was an amazing experience because we rarely have that in my country unless it is a professional farm, and we enjoyed our time playing around with their kid. It was such a pity that we only got to stay for a week, so I am excited that this time I have planned a longer time for workawaying.
I speak fairly well English which is enough for understanding tasks, but I would like to improve my Czech, too. I have learned Czech for more than one year with tutors. I understand some basic slow Czech with a standardized accent, but I get too nervous to use it with other Czech people, and I aim to know how to speak some Hanácká Čeština. I am also very happy to introduce my own culture/ language. (I am a Taiwan Mandarin as a second language teacher.)
I am looking for a host who hosts in July/August for around a month. I will have to have online tutoring hours for at most four hours per week, and I am able to help in the rest of the time. Though I do not have much experience with farm work, I am responsible and willing to learn new skills as long as it is safe, and I get along with kids and animals well.
I hope I can provide actual help in need, and we have a nice experience with each other!
