Hello!
My name is Javier. I’m 45 and I’m from Ecuador.
Since I came back from school in Canada in 2020, I’ve been working on creating a food forest in my little piece of land near Quito. I absolutely love to work in the food forest but the progress is slow because I share my time and energy with my other big passion which is music.
I don’t know much about permaculture but I learn as I go. I try to listen to my intuition and let the land and the plants guide me, but I also watch youtube videos every now and then ;) But for sure, nothing beats learning directly from other people.
I’m also very much into being as autonomous and sovereign as I can. I like not using money and try to interact directly with my sources of food, health, entertainment, etc. I love any kind of DIY projects and also I’m a beekeeper.
I try to carry a healthy and slow paced life.
I’ve been working on my tiny house and food forest pretty much on my own for the past five years and now I’m feeling like opening up a bit and maybe do some traveling again. I’ve done some workaway in the past in Canada and Romania, and I loved it. So, here I am removing the dust of my old workaway account and starting to connect to see what flows.
I'm planing to adequate a space in my property to receive workawayers but I'm not there yet.
I'm also interested in traveling around Ecuador and Peru, so I'm very open to finding a travel buddy.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I have experience working with bees (controlling hives, making honey, building materials, making beeswax foundations) I have basic woodworking skills (I know how to use the circular saw, table saw, router, sander). I know how to work in the garden (mowing, trimming, watering, digging, etc) I have experience working in organic farms (feeding animals, harvesting, weeding, selling produce) I know how to use computers and audio equipment (audio recorders, mixers, microphones) I can read and write music.
