Hello, I am a 25 year old American who is pursuing travel, work, and the meeting of new people. I grew up in Ohio, then lived in Portland, Oregon on the west coast of the US for the past 2 years. In May 2023, I took the leap to travel through Europe and the Middle East for 5 months. Now, I am traveling Southeast Asia.

I would love to learn new skills and meet new people through travel and volunteering abroad. I enjoy working on a team and being apart of something greater than myself. I love the outdoors and have been camping/climbing/mountain biking for years now. I have gone through many personal challenges over the past few years and traveling is one way that I’ve learned to manage anxiety, build confidence in myself, and grow in independence as an adult. I enjoy building meaningful relationships and being in communities that promote optimism, empathy, and intention.

Past Workaway experiences have been 3 weeks in Albania in August 2023 and one week in Lebanon in October 2023. I was planning on volunteering with an NGO in Lebanon for two months, but left the country early because of the risk of war.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

As a special education teacher, I have experience with children and adults with and without disabilities. I am really passionate about teaching and enjoy educating the younger generation about the world. Education that prioritizes anti-racism, environmental justice, and critical thinking for kids is important to me. I believe that true teaching is knowledge building, not just skill building. Jobs that work with kids or education systems would be a good fit for me.

I also love the outdoors. Although I do not have much experience with farming and livestock care, being outside is really peaceful and therapeutic for me. I am an eager learner and would really love to learn agriculture skills on your family farm/gardens.

I enjoy reading and learning. While not working, I will most likely be found relaxing and reading books. I also enjoy being active, such as kayaking, biking, and hiking. While I do enjoy a challenging myself in the outdoors, most of my outdoor recreation is focused on finding calmness in the nature and connecting with the friends that I share it with. I am passionate about preserving the earth and reducing my environmental impact.
