Hello everyone!

My name is Eben, I am 18 years old, graduated high school and I am taking a gap year to discover myself and the world. I love adventure, economics, and entrepreneurship, as well as talking to people, seeing their vision of life and expanding my own vision.

With Workaway I hope to learn a new language, explore new places, and above all meet new people with new visions, or connect with those who share the same vision?

In my free time, I go to the gym and play the drums. Besides my hobbies I like to spend time with friends, learning something new, playing sports and pushing myself out of my comfort zone.

My planning on my first trip is going to Chile, I would love to go hiking, practice the language, discover the culture and making new friends.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I grew up in a family where my mother has her own business. This taught me at a young age to talk to people and to welcome and host clients in the business. Growing up in a business environment also means that I am used to doing a lot of chores, cleaning and keeping the business (and the house) neat.

As part-time work, I used to help with a move and work in a supermarket. I am a camp counselor at Kazou, an organisation that organises summer vacations for children up to 18 years old.

I have basic knowledge of electronics. I have built a computer, so I have knowledge about the parts that fit in a PC. I was born into a generation that lives with their smartphone glued to their hands. As much as I try to avoid social media and using my phone, I know how it works, what you can do with it and even teach others if needed. I can also edit videos.

My mother tongue is Dutch, but I am fluent in English and I can more than help myself in French. I have basic knowledge of Spanish and a little bit of German. I could teach Dutch and English. I would love to develop my Spanish until I can speak it fluently.

At home we have chickens and cats, which I take care of. I used to have rabbits, which we had to feed by hand when they were just born because the mother unfortunately rejected the baby bunnies.

I recently graduated in Human Sciences at secondary school.
