Hello! My name is Devon (28F)! I’m so excited to be considered for your Workaway experience and hope we have the chance to meet soon.

I am from Raleigh, North Carolina, United States. I have worked an office job for the last 6 years while dreaming of the right time to embark on Workaway journeys! My past work experiences include DJing (music), waitressing, graphic design, and marketing and project management (9-5 corporate).

My biggest two loves are people and food. I love spending time cooking and hosting friends and neighbors in my home. I have volunteered at nearby farms to learn about growing food, but definitely want to learn more. I would love to be a part of your family for a few weeks/month and help with farming, cooking, and any other tasks that you need. Aside from farming, I am interested in boating, animal care, language exchange, and hospitality opportunities.

I am very curious, outgoing, and light-hearted. I am a fast learner and hard worker with a great attitude. Two of my dreams for this year are to work on an olive oil farm and vineyard. Anything outdoors excites me and I love travel.

I speak fluent English and know beginner Italian and Spanish. I will try my best to speak the basics of your language! I would love to get to know you and your culture 🙂

I would love to help any host family with learning English as I am fluent. I'd also love to learn more Italian and Spanish as I have a foundation in both languages. I studied Spanish in high school and Italian at university. I'm open to learning any languages to better connect with all cultures.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Professionally, I have worked in a variety of marketing, design, and business management jobs. I've been a social media manager, Radio DJ, and server as well!

As far as skills/hobbies I've tried - gardening, woodworking, woodburning, pottery, painting, pastel drawing, photography, and in general I enjoy building things and working with my hands.

I learned Spanish in high school and Italian in college (but definitely need to brush up before I'd be considered fluent).

I also love to study new things- religion, psychology, philosophy, etc.

Other hobbies I enjoy - most sports (primarily golf), kayaking, fishing, cooking, writing, dancing.
