Hello,

My name is Angie. I am originally from Mexico but raised in Texas (United States); I come from a big, tight-knit family that is my world and the reason why I feel grounded and capable of handling life’s endeavors. I am an artist at heart, spontaneous in a responsible kind of way, and I have an insatiable thirst for knowledge. I'm here on Workaway because I love to volunteer abroad, and I love to experience other cultures, languages, and people while at the same time being able to learn along the way.

In my spare time, I enjoy staying active, being healthy, exploring nearby national parks, reading, writing, philosophy, volunteering, going to the gym, and I love being creative. If I had the time and resources, I would travel around the world as an established writer: a goal always on the back of my mind. I grew up near the United States and Mexican border, so I feel lucky to have been raised within a nice blend between two very different cultures and languages. Spanish is my native language and the language spoken and taught at home, while English is my second native language taught in school.

I have traveled extensively before; I backpacked Europe, volunteered in Uganda, Cambodia, and Hungary. I backpacked South Africa and volunteered in Plettenberg Bay, ZA. More recently, I backpacked around Istanbul, Turkey.
