Description

We are Claude (34) and Melanie (31), a Swiss couple currently looking for a place where we can slow down a little, connect with local people, and experience everyday life in a new country.

Melanie was born and raised in Switzerland and studied Social Work. For several years, she worked in schools supporting children with special needs before transitioning into her current role with a small startup in the health and social sector. Melanie works remotely, which has allowed her to combine work and travel over the past 2.5 years. In her free time, she loves being creative, crafting, spending time outdoors, going on adventures, kitesurfing, and discovering new places and cultures.

Claude was also born and raised in Switzerland. He studied Economics and Finance and worked in the banking sector for 12 years. Around 2.5 years ago, he decided to leave his job and pursue his passion for travel and learning about different ways of life. He loves being outdoors, enjoys almost every sport, and is very hands-on. Whether it's building, fixing, gardening, or helping with practical projects, he enjoys working with his hands and learning new skills. He is particularly interested in construction, permaculture, gardening, and sustainable living. He also enjoys learning new languages and, of course, kitesurfing whenever there is wind!

Claude has already completed several Workaway experiences and has always enjoyed contributing, learning, and building meaningful connections with hosts. As I continue to work remotely during our stay, Claude would be the main Workawayer, but I would be happy to help out whenever my work schedule allows.

For us, Workaway is not just about accommodation in exchange for help. It's an opportunity to become part of a local community, share experiences, learn new skills, and create genuine connections with people. We are easy-going, reliable, open-minded, and excited to contribute wherever we can.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

My background is primarily office work (banking), hence in the field of workaway I am searching probably of limited use. However, more than happy to review financials, budget planning, cash flow analysis of your business and support in admin tasks.

On gardening, building and permaculture, my skills are more than anything that I am a fast-learner, worked as bicycle mechanic as a kid and am hands-on, not shying away to do hard work.
