Hey there, glad you found your way here! :)

I know it’s not always easy to get a real sense of someone from just a few words on a screen—I’d much rather chat in person! But I’ll do my best to give you an idea of who I am, what I’m passionate about, and hopefully, we’ll get in touch soon.

I’m Clara, 24 years old, from northern Germany. Like most people on Workaway, I love cultural exchange, volunteering, and spending time outdoors. Traveling and connecting with people from different backgrounds has always been important to me because I believe it’s the best way to truly understand different cultures, perspectives, and ways of life.

After finishing high school in 2019, I finally had the freedom to explore the world! I spent a gap year volunteering in the U.S., living in a lifesharing home and supporting young adults with special needs in their daily lives. That experience not only reinforced my passion for working with people but also showed me the power of community and human connection.

Now, I’m in the final stretch of my studies in English, Geography, and Educational Science at the University of Greifswald and will soon be a teacher. I spent a semester abroad in Hanoi, Vietnam, where I also completed internships teaching English at two different schools. It gave me valuable classroom experience and insight into international education.
After that, I traveled through Southeast Asia, doing Workaway at a durian farm and a permaculture garden, where I got hands-on experience in sustainable farming and learned that durians really do smell as bad as people say.

I’ve always dreamed of exploring the world and meeting new people—because I truly believe that strangers are just friends you haven’t met yet. Even as a kid, I wanted to be an explorer.

My first Workaway experience took me to Swedish Lapland, where I helped with woodwork, maintenance, and running an Airbnb in the Arctic Circle. It was an unforgettable experience, and now I’m eager for my next adventure—especially in Central America, where I hope to improve my Spanish while learning from locals.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I'm from the country side in northern Germany, so I have helped my parents with house and garden work all my life.
I'm always willing to learn new skills or ways of working on something.
We have animals ourselves like chickens, horses, cats and dogs so I know a little bit about farm work.
I have an older brother who already has two children (a 3-year old and a 6-year old) which I babysit once in a while.
I'd consider myself a basic cook. I love to try out new recipes and share a good cooking session and meal. Given that I'm sharing a flat with three roommates,that I also consider good friends, I'm cooking together all the time.
