Description

Hi! My name is Ava and I love to be outside. Whether that means working in the garden, or going on a backpacking trip, I think that time spent outdoors is time well spent.
I am also a very self motivated person, and when something needs to be done I am all on board until its completed. I am not afraid of hard work and oftentimes, I enjoy it! I am flexible and with some instruction, I can be very independent.
I want to Workaway to be able to fully immerse myself in another culture. I am so excited to be able to try the food, meet the people, and explore the scenery! And I would be honored to be able to share my experiences with the people I meet as well.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Gardening - For the past 2 years, I have helped my parents with their garden and learned skills like: weeding, planting, pruning, building structures like beds and trellises, and how to successfully grow food.
Animal care- My family has chickens, dogs, and cats, and I am skilled at handling them and taking care of them.
Cooking- I am a baker at the cafe where I work, and I make lots of pastries and sweet treats. I also help out with food preparation and food service.
Construction- I have basic knowledge on how to build small structures. I helped my parents build a chicken coop and have helped with various home improvement projects.

Volunteer Experience!
- Missoula Community Garden - I volunteered at the end of the season and helped harvest things like tomatoes, onions, and carrots.
- Montana Conservation Corps - I went on an expedition with the conservation corps in Glacier National Park. During which, we picked up litter, performed huckleberry surveys and fire mitigation, and pulled invasive weeds.
- Missoula Insectarium and Butterfly House - I volunteered here as a museum interpreter. My role included handling live insect specimens, relaying scientific information about insects and their roles in their ecosystems to a wide range of patrons, including children, and creating a safe, exciting, learning environment.
