Hello! I am currently living in the small northern Californian town I grew up in, and looking to work and travel this summer/fall. I am interested in helping families, farm stays, and hostel work!

Description

Hello! My name is Ashlin, I'm 27 years old and from California, USA. I grew up in an off-grid house in the beautiful Sierra Nevada mountains, so I am no stranger to the outdoors, rural living, or hard work. From a young age I've had a deep desire to see the world and understand different ways of life around our beautiful planet, and now as an adult with the capabilities to see it, I am seeking out the opportunities that allow me to travel, work, and learn. In high school, I had a life changing experience as a short term exchange student in Australia. After graduating, I spent a year living abroad in Germany as an Au Pair and had an excellent experience with a wonderful family who I still keep in touch with today. I have experience volunteering in hostels both in cities and in rural mountain areas in many areas of the world. More recently I embarked on an 4 month roadtrip across Australia completing a coast to coast trek from Perth to Brisbane. All these adventures have shaped who I am today, but I feel like I have only scratched the surface of all I can see in the world and who I can become.

Although only fluent in one, I am always happy and willing to learn a new language! It is a life ambition of mine to learn many languages. Previously as an Au Pair, part of my job was to help the young German kids I was helping take care of practice their English. I have no other experience teaching English beyond that, but I do not mind challenging myself to learn new skills in a situation where it's needed.

- Professional house cleaning experience (from Au Pair experience and private hire housekeeper)
- Basic/Moderate level cooking skills

- Maintenance skills (can run a chainsaw, weed whacker, wood chipper, mower. Can help repair, dig, construct, etc.)
- Several years of child care experience (ranging from ages 2 months to 12 years old)

Autres infos...

Growing up in the mountains, the outdoors are my happy place. Hiking is one of my favorite activities, or just walking anywhere in nature, really. I also love swimming, archery, fishing, card games, baking, video editing, gardening, and embroidery. Although I have little experience actually caring for them, I really love horses and am very interested in learning more about equestrian care.
