Hi, I’m Anna, and I’m currently studying English and German at Ruhr University Bochum with the goal of becoming a primary school teacher.

I’d describe myself as a creative, artsy person who enjoys doing crafts and spending time with close friends to unwind. I’m not much of a partygoer and prefer smaller hangouts, but I’m generally outgoing and easy to approach.

When I travel, I love places that allow me to explore as much as possible, whether that’s historic cities or hiking trails with beautiful views. (Although wherever I am, I will always find a way to sigh at pictures of my cats from home and silently wish I could have taken them with me.)

So far I have traveled mainly within Europe, with regular visits to Greece and Macedonia, and occasional trips to Prague, Edinburgh, Málaga and some other cities that are close to where I live such as Amsterdam, Lille and Berlin.

Currently I am looking for a place to visit for my stay abroad that I need to complete before pursuing my bachelor's degree. I'm hoping to get to explore the broad history of England, see the beautiful greenery of Wales, perhaps take another trip to Scotland or maybe get an opportunity to practice my recently acquired skills in Gaeilge by staying in Ireland or Northern Ireland!

I’m still quite new to Workaway, so I don’t have any references yet, but I’d be happy to chat and answer any questions, and I’m definitely open to a video call!

I’m excited to explore a new place, meet new people, and see what I can learn along the way! ☺️

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I have two years of experience working in a school, where I supported children with their homework and daily learning routines. During this time, I gained a lot of positive experience and learned how important it is to meet children at eye level. I’m confident in my ability to communicate with kids in a respectful and patient way, without talking down to them or expecting everyone to learn in the same manner. I’ve found that children respond well when they feel taken seriously, and I’m happy to adapt my approach to different personalities and learning styles.

I speak German and English fluently, as well as Macedonian. I understand Serbian, can hold conversations in Spanish (although I understand much more than what I can speak), and understand a fair amount of French. I’ve also recently started learning Irish out of personal interest.

At the moment, I work at a small advertising agency, where I’ve developed a good sense for organization, responsibility, and working independently as well as in a team.

I’m a reliable and open person who takes feedback well and communicates clearly. I’m good at explaining things and finding practical, solution-oriented ways to handle challenges. Respectful communication is very important to me, I believe that most, if not all problems can be solved calmly by talking them through. Overall, I’m positive, friendly, and easy to work with!
