Description

Hi there! We’re Cameron and AK—partners in both life and learning. We’re recent college grads who love being outside, getting our hands dirty, and learning from the land and the people who care for it.

We’re curious, hard workers, and quick to pick things up. Neither of us are afraid of long days or unfamiliar tasks. Whether it’s weeding, harvesting, cooking, animal care, hauling, planting, building, or cleaning—we show up with full hearts and a lot of respect for the work it takes to grow good food and keep a place running.

We’re also kind, easy to live with (we love to clean!!), and grateful for the chance to learn from others. Our hope with WorkAway is not just to help out, but to connect with people, with the earth, and with a way of life that values community and care.

We are both fluent in English and AK is fluent in German as well, so we are excited to help teach either of these. AK is learning French and Cameron is learning Spanish, so we would love to immerse ourselves in these languages to help us learn!

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

We’re both passionate about cooking and love spending time in the kitchen. AK has worked professionally as both a pastry chef and a cook, and Cameron brings years of experience cooking at home and at a cooking school for kids.

We’re also very comfortable working outdoors. AK has hands-on experience in gardening and keen knowledge in agriculture, while Cameron has worked in tree logging and general garden maintenance. Cameron works with children for a living and also has experience with dog and horse training and care. We both love animals and are confident, capable riders.

We have WWOOFed (organic farming work exchange) before on an organic coffee farm following agroforestry practices, where we helped prune and fell trees, maintain the land, and support day-to-day farm operations. It confirmed our love for working with our hands in the outdoors and learning more about our food systems.

We’re both very active and love practicing sports or picking up new ones—anything from hiking, swimming, running or climbing to trying out whatever activities a place has to offer. We also enjoy crafting and creative projects just for fun.

AK is also an amateur mycologist and loves anything related to fungi. She loves to explore the local area to discover all kinds of molds and mushrooms, as well as to preserve food through fermentation.
