Description
New to workaway! I'm usually based in New York but I've been taking some time out of the city to focus on language learning, traveling, building skills, and fostering hobbies. I trained as an actor and recently wrapped filming on an indie film out in Costa Rica (which I absolutely loved.)
I used to teach yoga, now I maintain a more personal practice but am more than happy to share classes with anyone interested. I write poems and short stories in my spare time, love baking and cooking, and am in the process of learning several instruments (which I am very bad at but I'm having fun trying.)

I studied French for four years in high school and would love to be fluent. I've taken some classes and listen to language learning podcasts but I think the best way for me to be functionally fluent will be total immersion. I have a little experience with Spanish, much less than with French, but I'm working towards having a conversational understanding.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?
I really enjoy physical labor. I don't have any professional experience in yard work but a lot of experience in my own yard and helping friends and family. I have experience with power tools and with restoring old furniture I've found on the street.
I love to cook, I spent some time with a Food Not Bombs group cooking meals for the community once a week so I'm familiar with prepping large, healthy meals. (I'm pescatarian so that's usually what I cook but I'm happy to learn some meat friendly recipes.)
I've always been around animals and love working with/looking after them. I had a horse growing up so I'm familiar with mucking out stalls and grooming. I find it very relaxing. I haven't ridden recently but spent a lot of years in lessons so if necessary I could help exercise horses, donkey's, or mules.
I'm also a very cautious driver.

A few random tidbits:
I love reading and i'm always looking for recommendations.
If I start working on a puzzle I am incapable of getting anything else done unless I finish it.
I grew up in Colorado and spent a lot of time in the outdoors so if anyone needs a hiking/rafting/or skiing buddy I'm always down to be outside!
