Hi - we’re Alex and Elliot 👋 We are an outgoing and friendly couple from Melbourne, Australia. We are currently on a long-term trip as we've taken a year off our jobs. We have spent 3 months travelling Malaysia, Taiwan and Sri Lanka and are now looking to change the pace of our trip and find cultural exchange opportunities in Europe through work away. We're both new to the site but are really excited to dive into our first experience and contribute to a meaningful project while meeting new people and exploring new places.

Here is a bit more about both of us:

Back home I work for the government in renewable energy policy. I love my job, but it's very fast paced so I also really value any time I get to step away from my desk and spend outside or working with my hands. I'm very active and love long hikes in the middle of nowhere, trail running and also trying to keep up with daily yoga. I'm trying to learn to surf, but it's slow progress!
Another passion is cooking. I love to cook in season with fresh ingredients, especially with the challenge of turning a random assortment of ingredients into a delicious dish.
In my downtime you'll find me tucked into a couch with a good book or finishing an addictive tv show!
I have a lot of experience with editing and corporate documentation. I have a great eye for proof reading, so would be happy to use these skills to help your business if that would be of use.

I've stepped away from my corporate life for a year to travel and explore my passions and new experiences.
Ive been surfing since I was young and love to be in the ocean, but love to pair this with long walks, mountain hikes and cycling.
I'm using my extra spare time at the moment to improve my Spanish. I have basic proficiency and would be very grateful for any conversational practice.
Back home I've helped my father and brothers build and renovate properties, so have basic experience assisting with construction. I'm keen to work with my hands and help out if needed.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

We have both taken a year off work and looking forward to stepping away from a screen to spend more time outdoors and work with our hands. We would be happy to take on any general maintenance, including gardening, cleaning or general labour. We are practical and hard working and have some gardening experience.
We also love cooking and food preparation, and love cooking with fresh ingredients from the veggie patch.
