Description

Hi, we're Laura and Alex. We are from the Netherlands and also lived together in Denmark for 2,5 years. We met through our shared passion for windsurfing. We enjoy many other outdoor activities too, such as climbing, skiing or hiking. Two years ago another member joined our little family, this furry friend is called Mylo and is a Australian Shepherd. He loves cuddles and playing and joining us on our activities.

For a couple of years, we have had the dream to travel for a few months in our self converted camper van. Our dream finally turned into a reality and the three of us are now travelling through Europe. The plan is to travel to the South of Italy and then continue to Greece and up through Eastern Europe, and eventually travel all the way up to the North Cape before heading down south again. Along the way we would love to learn more about the local culture and contribute to cool projects.

We love being close to nature and are very interested in working with animals, farming or joining permaculture projects! Other projects we would be interested in is organising activities for children or adults. A specific wish of Laura is to learn horseback riding and how to take care of these wonderful animals.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Alex: I've got a master in Aerospace Engineering and about 7 years of working experience within composites. I'm good with my hands, I've converted the VW T5 van we're currently travelling in, and good with computers/electronics. I'm also good with animals and I can bake a decent sourdough bread.

Laura: After my studies in Global Health, I travelled through South America for half a year. During my travels, I stayed on a permaculture farm for 2 months where I helped out with general activities on the farm such as compost making, vermiculture, planting and watering plants, and taking care of the animals. One of my favourite memories of that period is sharing moments together with the owners and other volunteers, especially the weekly potluck and talent show.

I then went on to work for a NGO that facilitates play and movement activities for children living in asylum centres in the NL. I mainly worked behind the scenes (research, logistics, project management) but also facilitated three sessions once a week to children ranging from 6-17 years old (split over three age groups). I love to work with children and come up with cool games which they can learn from and enjoy!
