  • Description

Hi! We are Harry and Zoe. We both find joy in working hard and having a laugh at the same time, and are enthusiastic to get our hands dirty in anything. Whether it's tending a garden, learning natural construction, or contributing to a project that fosters growth and learning.

We both completed a 2 week PDC in 2024, which kickstarted our thirst for knowledge in learning more about Permaculture through the land and people. Permaculture inspires us as a way to create sustainable, harmonious systems that nurture the earth and our communities.

Seeing the world and travelling is what we have wanted for the last 10 years, and we are currently on the trip of our lifetime- travelling through SE Asia and then onto the UK and Europe with a thirst for learning through working on permaculture farms. We are thrilled to immerse in local cultures, hear unique stories, and deepen our understanding of how people live and thrive in different parts of the world. We love learning from others and sharing experiences, whether it’s over a shared meal, through working together, or exploring new places.

What motivates and inspires us is the desire to diversify our skill set while continuing to grow and learn from the people and environments we encounter. We are very passionate about food and cooking and find that this is also a huge motivation for our travels. We have experience in creating wicking polyculture beds and digging swales at our home on the east coast of Australia. It has been a delight to take care of chickens, see more bees and birds visit our area and we would love to learn more skills to be able to bring home back to our community.

One of the projects we would like to do on our travels is vlogging about slow travelling (gathering footage during work hours whilst we undertake the days tasks, whilst editing outside of working hours). We aim to highlight how this way of travel adds a richness to your life through the people you meet, food you eat and skills you learn, that you would miss out on with conventional travelling.

The following skills we would love to learn (but not limited to):
    Cheese and butter making
    Pickling and fermenting
Taking care of chickens, ducks and goats (or other animals)
    Natural construction
    Bread making
    Wine, beer or cider making
    Tree Pruning
    Polyculture beds
Crop storage for maximum shelf life
    Hydroponics
    Composting toilet setups
    Ethical butchery

  • Quelles sont vos compétences ?

We bring a diverse range of skills and experience that we are eager to share and build upon. Over the last couple years, we've developed some understanding in permaculture and sustainable living practices. We both completed our PDC at the beginning of 2024 in Tasmania, and look forward to opportunities to further build on these skills. From designing and maintaining gardens to soil improvement and composting, we enjoy creating thriving ecosystems that benefit both nature and people.
Our main passion along with Permaculture is FOOD! We love all aspects of food from growing, harvesting, cooking and preserving. We love to share our recipes but are eager to learn and experience new ways of thinking in cooking.
Additionally, we have strong interpersonal skills, gained through our work, Zoe is a Doctor of Chinese Medicine and Qi Gong Instructor. Harry is a Teacher/Educator specialising in Autism and ADHD. We really love engaging with people from diverse backgrounds and cultures. We adapt well to new environments, enjoy learning new skills, and approach challenges with a positive and collaborative mindset.
Whether it’s outdoor projects, teamwork, or learning something new, We are committed to being an enthusiastic, dependable and hard-working addition to any family.
