Hi! I'm Yordi.

I am in my early twenties. I was raised between Jersey (Channel Islands) and the Netherlands as I am Dutch/English.

Since college I have been working on the island of Jersey as a gardener. I enjoy reading, writing, walking and photography in my spare time.

I have been on and off the island since last summer travelling to different parts of Greece and now France.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I have several years experience as a gardener/horticulturist. I have a decent knowledge of plants as well as practical skills in this field.

I have always had pet cats and/or dogs and have experience with reactive/vulnerable animals. I have worked with insects and reptiles and have an affinity with most fauna.

I know my way around a kitchen.

I am a competent writer and know how to use words and vocabulary clearly.

I studied photography in college and also enjoy landscape and architectural photography as a casual hobby.

I am happy to get my hands dirty.

Yordi stayed 3 weeks with us on our place.
He was a great support in garden, household and even with the kids.
Plus I learned more about plants.
He was very easygoing, we had nice talks and laughs.
What I really appreciated was, that he was also taking his time and flexible with my plans.

I spent three weeks on Andros looking after the dogs at the shelter. It was a lovely experience to get to know them and their different personalities while we enjoyed walks along the beach or through the town or cuddles back at the shelter.

Yordi is a real angel on Earth.
He has been very attentive and involved in the dogs well being and shelter maintenance. He left the studio where he stayed perfectly clean and tidy and also left some very helpful tips for the next volunteer.
