Les activités qui m'intéressent :
I will be in South Korea from 22nd February for the next 2-3 months
Ma prochaine destination :
South Korea - du Mar 2025 au Mai 2025 Voir toutDescription
I'm 27 years old 'From' Bristol, UK and currently on a bicycle trip starting in Ho Chi Minh, through China to Qingdao, and then on to South Korea and Japan
Riding a bicycle is when I'm most happy. From being able to carry your weekly groceries and 'accidently' keep fit commuting to work, all the way through to a form a travel that has a layer of depth no transport with an engine can offer, a bicycle really is king.
I've always enjoyed visiting new places. Festival hopping around Europe when I was younger, backpacking a little later - meeting and talking to people has always felt like a key part of being alive.
Work experience wise: -Maintenance manager role for 18 months, so would love to learn more DIY related skills. As I'm still very much an amateur
I also worked for Perth City Council gardens team, pruning and caring for plants, and shaping hedges + mowing grass with machinery. A career in horticulture is something that is on my mind, so any knowledge gained in this area would be awesome.
I have volunteered Malaysia, Cambodia and India, mainly in hospitality and DIY/ building & maintenance roles.
I'm happy to throw myself at anything to be honest. I'm laid back and just happy to be here!
Additionally, moving towards a more "off grid" approach to living has always fascinated me, so an opportunity to learn techniques and skills which allow a more sustainable and self-sufficient way of living would also be awesome.
Workaway is the perfect solution to continue my love for exploring whilst experiencing opportunities I couldn't do at home.Centres d’intérêt

I can speak a tiny bit of French, so would always be interested in trying to learn some more basics of the language. Although, I hate being the Englishman who can only speak English, so I am open to learn more about the language of whatever country I visit!Compétences et connaissances que j'aimerais partager ou apprendre

Quelles sont vos compétences ?
I have worked in hostels and guesthouses in Malaysia (Langkawi and Tioman), Cambodia, and India. So have lots of experience with housekeeping, checking in/out duties, and making guests feel welcome and at home.
For 18 months I worked in Maintenance (handy-man) in a retirement home.
Although definitely a beginner, I have picked up a lot of experience in general DIY skills which include:
- Basic plumbing (fitting toilets, cisterns and taps, fitting compression pipework)
- Painting & decorating
- Tiling
- VERY basic 'indoor carpentry' (fitting door handles, locks, re-fitting doorframes)
- Gardening (mowing lawns, planting & potting, fence repairs)
I worked for a year on the Perth City Council gardens team:
- shaping hedges and shrubs with petrol powered machinery
- pruning trees
- safely using controlled weed killers
- mowing grass with strimmers and sit-on mowers
- edging paths
If these amateur-level skills aren't any use, I'm equally as happy partaking in physical labor and just generally being a helping hand.
I am essentially just happy to learn more skills, the type of tasks aren't really too important to me. If I can assist with what I know, fantastic. If not I'm happy to muck in wherever and learn something new!Âge
