  • Description

Hei hei! My name is Vici, I am 22 years old, German but living and thriving in Bergen, Norway.

! - - - I’m looking for a workaway near Tromsø from 4th until 12th January. At the moment, I'm exploring Bergen and its surroundings. Text me if you have questions about the area or want to meet up. After almost two years of living here, I am familiar with the city but more an expert on the local mountains, hiking trails, camping and swimming spots etc. :)- - - !

My three main quests in Bergen are my studies, my job and the Red Cross. I also spend as much time outside as possible.

I am open to try new things and discover new interests I did not know I had. Just like I discovered in South America that I enjoy building houses and beekeeping:))

I am adventurous, curious, helpful and energetic. I can be very outgoing, but in some settings I might be rather quiet. In general, I can handle and appreciate both. I love this platform since it made me get to know local or alternative ways of living, try out new things and have an exchange of knowledge, ideas and experiences. I feel like it's a very sustainable way of travelling, also because it made me build deeper connections with people and places (and dogs and cats^^) and made me learn and grow much more than I could have ever, if I, for instance, had only stayed in hostels (which has been fun, too!). I'm absolutely grateful for the people I've met via this platform who I can call my friends and even family now:)

Plus de détails sur les langues qui m'intéressent
I love languages, so YES. Im especially interested in Spanish language exchange, as learning Norwegian made my Spanish suffer and I don't get many chances to use it here. Nevertheless, I always love to learn some new phrases in other languages as well as to share my knowledge. I love learning in general (nerd).

  • Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I've joined 8 different workaways over the past 4 years; to some of them I also returned. I built clay houses (my favourite), took care of farm animals and plants, fixed fences, cooked, did house and pet sitting, cuddled dogs, harvested wine, made firewood and learned about (organic) agriculture, including agroforestry and reforestation.

My very first workaway was at a hostel and I've been working as a waitress for a while now, so I have experience with customers service, switching back and forth between languages, doing a bunch of things at once, shift management etc.

I'm a geophysics student (=something with physics, maths, rocks and explaining what the heck geophysics is). I used to study international law, which nowadays feels a bit weird so please don't ask me to defend your case. I could hold a monologue on the constitution of Rwanda or how to get from law to geophysics (optional).

Through the Red Cross, I participate in search and rescue operations, attend local events as an FAA and take further courses and training in SAR and (psychological) first aid. It’s basically hiking in uniform and, if applicable, treating a patient with saline, dark humour or cpr.

I have some experience with animal care. My family had a dog (rest in peace, my teddy bear♡) and rabbits. I did some horseback riding as a child and we sometimes spent the holidays on farms and helped taking care of cows, chicken or donkeys.

Over the last 6 years, I've lived and worked together with many different people from different nationalities and backgrounds, so I learned some of the benefits and challenges of living together, intercultural communication, sharing rooms and facilities, speaking different languages without excluding anyone etc.

I'm open to any kind of work since I realised that (especially on workaway) it's also about the vibe and the people that make the work fun and I found several things that I like doing now which I had never tried before. For me, it's supposed to be a more holistic experience than just the plain idea of work in exchange for food and accommodation as it can be so much more.
