Description
Hello!
My name is Tyra and I’m a 22-year-old living in Sweden. I’m really interested in and passionate about both the environment and culture, art and literature (all of which I study). I’ve previously done workaways mostly working with cultural projects or permaculture (which I am very fascinated about).
This winter and spring I’ve quite a lot of time either free or working from home, and I figured that going on a new (or a few new?) workaway experiences would be perfect! The best part of my previous workaways has been all the wonderful people I’ve got to meet. I think workaway is a perfect way to understand and learn from other people (and new cultures). It’s wonderful to be invited into someone’s everyday life, their work or a project they’re passionate about. It might sound like a cliché but I really am incredibly thankful for the workaway experiences I’ve had, they’ve been bringing so much light into my life and I’ve learnt so much from them! So, experiencing that again would be incredible.
I grew up in the Swedish countryside, close to the forest. And I absolutely love being in nature; running, hiking, climbing or just watching the forest. Now living in the big city that is something I don’t get too many opportunities to do, so getting to do some of that again would also be one of the things I hope to do through my travels.
I’m currently studying my last year on my bachelor’s in literature and working part time as a librarian. However, I’m also studying environmental sciences and philosophy. I find that topics such as the environment, politics and humanities often are more connected than one might think and I’m therefore very happy to be able to work in an interdisciplinary way. (I’m kind of nerdy about all this so please don’t hesitate to ask me more, or to ask me to shut up if it gets too much!)
Apart from my current work and studies I’ve previously worked as a journalist and photographer (mainly for my local newspaper), plus I’ve volunteered as a summer-camp leader for the Red Cross and have overseen a language café. (In case you were wondering about what kind of experience I have ;).
Through doing workaways I hope (mainly) to get to know new people, explore new places and hopefully learn something along the way (whether it’s a new work experience, something about language and culture or just something about myself or you).
Thank you for reading this far!

I love language in general and have experience from teaching Swedish and English (ages up to 15 in Swedish schools), but I also speak French and German. I love writing and actually find the structure of language (such as grammar) fairly interesting!

Quelles sont vos compétences ?
I love working with people! For instance I've worked as a substitute teacher and been a summer camp leader at the Red Cross for two summers. Plus done various of volunteering projects for the Red Cross such as teaching dance to children and organizing projects for families.
I’ve also worked in a language café and at my local tourist information centre, so I’m used to working in service and meeting a lot of people and talking to them in different languages (I speak Swedish, French, German and English).
I’ve also free-lanced as a journalist and photographer for some time, so I’m good at working with creative projects in various forms. Anything from web design to working with language and writing!
I’m currently a student (comperative literature and environmental sciences) and I work part time as a librarian. However, I hope to try and learn new things through here!
