Description
Hello! We are Maddie and Luke, two artists at heart and teachers by trade. On a mission to experience cultural exchanges and new ways of life, we want to give as much as we get from our travel experiences. While Luke is a visual artist and I am a dance instructor/choreographer, we share an artistic vision of acts of service through art. With a combined 17 years of teaching experience in formal academic classrooms and studio settings, we have an incredible passion for working with kids and young adults. We believe in sharing the joy of creation through art and movement. We are self-disciplined and hard-working, always eager for a challenge or the opportunity to learn something new.
During the school year, I am the director of dance at a school for the arts, working with grades 6 through 12. I teach a variety of styles including ballet, modern, contemporary, and jazz. I received my BFA in Theatre Performance in 2016 and have been working in the theatre industry ever since. Luke is a full-time abstract artist who has ditched the traditional methods of painting. Working only with acrylic paint and his fingertips, his work mimics pointillism with the goal of definition through distortion. Luke's vibrant paintings have been featured in countless art shows, and festivals, and have even made their way to Central America. Luke graduated with a degree in early childhood education with a focus in special education.
We hope to leave the world more colorful than how we found it. We believe in meeting people where they are and doing everything we can to take the spotlight off of ourselves and onto our scene partner. We operate from the platform of "life skills through the arts" looking to learn as much if not more than we can teach.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?
As we mentioned before we are both teachers. Our strengths include working with children of all ages, organizing large groups of people, and time management. Outside of education we are both active and love to be outdoors with experience working on farms and in gardens. Growing up riding horses Maddie is no stranger to larger animals. We also have heavy experience in the service/hospitality industry and enjoy working in kitchens and learning anything we can about local culture through food.
