We are interested in learning practical skills for sustainable living. We also love hiking, camping, wild swimming, most adventure sports, playing guitar and doing arts and crafts.

Description

Hello, Kia Ora from Alice and Tommy!

We are a couple from the UK (M27, F28) hoping to expand our knowledge of sustainable living from agriculture to eco-builds in the wild lands of New Zealand.

We are currently based in Tongariro National Park doing a ski season at Mt Ruapehu until September. After this we shall be traveling south to the Otago region for the summer and will be looking for workaway opportunities in and around this region.

We are well-travelled sustainability professionals with experience living in the likes of Canada, Japan and Australia. For the last few years we have been working in corporate sustainability jobs in the UK, but we have found that we are not making the tangible impacts that we would like to and do not feel well-suited to a life at a desk!

We are keen to meet like minded people who can help us develop practical sustainability skills that will contribute to both our careers and our personal lives. In exchange, we can share our knowledge of sustainable business practices with others and bring new ideas to eco-projects.

We are open to many different opportunities in ecotourism, agriculture, forestry, homesteading, conservation, sustainable construction, and we would welcome any chance to rollup our sleeves and get our hands dirty!

We love an adventure! We’re always up for trying new things, meeting new people and learning new skills. You’ll often find us out in nature with friends hiking, cycling, kayaking, camping or slack lining but we also love to explore our creative sides through woodwork, drawing, macrame, playing guitar, dancing and yoga. We also love a game of Perudo - if you don’t know it, we can teach you!
