I'm particularly interested in natural building

Description

I joined workaway a few years ago but recently restarted my account as I've discovered a passion for natural building and now I just want to build all the time! I'm looking to travel to discover new projects, build my skills and experience and meet people who also share a passion in sustainable building . I'm particularly interested in learning to build with materials that I've not worked with yet such as bamboo and stone, learning techniques that I've not done yet such as earthen floors and rammed earth and learning how to adapt buildings to different climates and ecosystems and maybe do a permaculture course somewhere.

I'm a nurse by background so I'm naturally the caring hardworking type but aside from nursing I have of other skills and intrests such as natural building, basic carpentry, tree surgery, sewing, fiberglass repairs, knitting, plastering, house sitting, dog sitting, massage, boat maintenance, teaching, and growing fruit and vegetables. I've had opportunities to be a part of many building projects including a straw bale bunk barn, a treehouse, a horsebox sauna conversion, a slipstraw/cob sauna, an earthbag shower unit, a roundhouse with reciprocal roof and a roundwood timber A frame cabin and clay and lime plastering. My favourite build project was definitely the treehouse as I love working in and around trees. Aside from building I love long walks, beautiful countryside and lounging in my hammock.
I'm from England and have done plenty of couch surfing and found it an amazing way to get to know a country and its people by sharing experiences lives and laughter. I love living in community and have lived in communal house shares in England and in Portugal.

I'm looking for projects with the opportunity to contribute and learn in a creative and welcoming atmosphere. I prefer to work alongside others rather than on my own as I find this helps motivate me and gives me more satisfaction. I'd also like to learn more about permaculture while traveling.
