Hello Workaway community!

My name is Steven, I’m 35 years old, originally from France, and I’ve been traveling the world since 2017 with the goal of discovering new cultures, meeting inspiring people, and learning new skills along the way.
I’m a positive, energetic and open-minded person, always trying to see the bright side of life. I’m friendly, curious, respectful, and I really enjoy exchanging ideas and experiences with people from different backgrounds.

Over the years, I’ve lived and worked in many countries: 1.5 years in Australia, 1 year in New Zealand, 4 years in Germany, and 2 years in Canada. Thanks to these experiences, I’ve worked in a wide variety of environments: farms, hospitality, catering, landscaping, construction, industry, ski resorts, and more.
I especially enjoy manual work: building, fixing, renovating, and improving things. During my travels, I renovated two vans myself to live in, and I’ve helped many Helpx and Workaway hosts with construction, renovation, maintenance, and landscaping projects.

For me, the best way to truly discover a country and its culture is to live with local people and share their daily life. That’s why I try to do Helpx, Workaway or Woofing whenever possible during my travels.

Some concrete experiences:
Canada (Yukon & Vancouver Island): 1 month each on a remote property doing construction and landscaping
New Zealand: lived on a farm for 2 months, helping with animals (feeding, cleaning, milking, general care) and farm maintenance
New Zealand: landscaping, cleaning and renovation work for a family
Australia: stayed with a family, helping with kids and dogs, house tasks, and cooking (I love cooking for others — I’m French after all 😄)

I love nature, wilderness, wildlife and outdoor activities such as biking, hiking, kayaking, skiing, scuba diving and photography.
I’m very comfortable living in remote or rural areas. I also love animals, especially dogs 🐕

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I'm a very handy person, quick learner and hard worker.

I'm skilled with many tools as I was a technician (Electrician and Audiovisual) for many years back in Europe. I also worked as a handyman for a family in New Zealand and did some renovation work, cleaning, landscaping...

I also have experiences in a kitchen as a kitchen hand, prep-cook and dishwasher. And I love cooking for friends and family :)

I've done many farm job too : Picking (Cherry, apple, strawberry, lettuce...), pruning, field maintenance, packing, animals care...
