Description

I like to travel and get to know different cultures, communities and spirituality. I find volunteering a pleasant way to get to know communities and people. Helping makes me feel good. I think it is important to work for the community and nature in a sustainable way, for the benefit of people and the environment. I like to work both indoors and outdoors. I can also do physical work, it also makes my body feel good. Nature and landscapes as well as sitting and watching the hustle and bustle of the street relax and calm the mind. Both are exciting. I can't resist Asian food :)

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I have worked as a teacher from primary to high school. I love working with children. I still do substitute work. I like doing traditional crafts, I am also a craftsman. I moved to the country and studied at university; I completed a master's degree. I grew up in a rural area in a family that practiced farming/reindeer herding/fishing/berry picking/subsistence farming.
I have done a lot of physical outdoor work, firewood, animal care, haymaking, berry picking, etc.

I have been 2023 a volunteer in Indonesia on the island of Java for two months. In a mangrove project in Pekalongan; I planted mangrove forests, harvested seeds, sowed mangrove forests, supported local events and activities; I exchanged cultures, visited schools; the encounters between volunteers, local people and children were a super great experience.

I have also spent time on the island of Shikoku along the Naka River for three months at the beginning of 2025, at the Kamodani Sudachi farm. Clearing fields for Sudachi plantings, and renewing them for the new growing season. The project also included emptying abandoned houses and renovating them in the initial stages. I liked this working sooo much. Thank you all, i always love you.

This year 2026 I spent three months in Japan volunteering. First two and a half months in Osaka with a family. Taking care of dogs and cleaning and organizing the house. I really liked it, so I am going back there to volunteer in February 2027. There were 2-3 of us volunteers there at the same time. The house was very cozy and warm hearted. Thanks to the host couple, they took good care of us. We spent a lot of time together in the evenings ;)

From there I continued to the island of Shikoku for two weeks, near Tokushima, to the apiary in Awa city to take care of the bees. It was so great working on the beehives with the host and two other volunteers. The host showed us and took us to many wonderful places and we went to eat. It was such a lovely house and a warm hearted home.

I don't know Japanese. I've tried, but I don't know the characters, so it's hard to study with the app. The first one is my Japanese textbook.
I have studied Bahasa Indonesia at home. I have tried my skills to speak bahasa Indonesia in Indonesia i have visited there a few times. I know I want to learn more ...
I speak some English. I've managed with it.
