Ciao! I'm Silvia, a 24 y.o. Italian girl! I have been living in England for eight years in total, Nigeria and Taiwan. I come precisely from Sicily, therefore, I adore the sea, nature and traditions.

I hold an MSc in Environment, Politics and Development and I am a Development Studies and Chinese graduate student.

I'm already traveling South America for four months to move from theory to practice and discover sustainable practices. I have joined incredible Bioconstruction, Permaculture, and Reforestation projects around Colombia and Ecuador. This enabled me to develop further skills in cutting, cleaning, and naturally treating bamboo, constructing with the latter as well as wood, working with the soil and constructing mud walls and mus murals, building organic toilets and learning about different compost techniques, as well as planting and organic recycling.

I love taking care of the places in which I live, especially by taking part in the Civil Society of the area to protect the neighboring environments, keeping places clean and adjusting what needs to be fixed :)
In my free time, I volunteer with ‘Rifiutiamoci’, a non-profit organisation for Siracusa’s (Sicily) environmental protection and the Caritas food distribution service.

Also I am enthusiastic about handy works, DIY, and creative upcycling and sometimes I give myself some free time to paint and draw. But most importantly, I adore singing and have been self-learning to play guitar in the last years (still a bit to learn though :))).

I prefer rural areas and small villages to big cities, as I feel it's the best place to maintain the traditional features of one culture, but especially there is more respect for nature and less consumerism. I have lived in front of the sea for most of my life, but I have discovered a passion for mountains too!

I could also spend hours cooking different cuisines as I am passionate about learning traditional uses and costumes.

I am an Italian Mother tongue, I speak advanced English and a bit of Mandarin Chinese and French, and I am now learning Spanish (which I am loving !).

I enjoy pure connections and love enthusiastic people and good vibes!
