Strangers are just friends you have'nt met yet...

My family and I have been workaway host for 5 years now (and we loooove it) so when I feeled I could go back to travelling solo without my tribe (thanks to my wonderful partner) it was very natural for me to join as a workawayer myself . I dit two stays so far and it has been very fulfilling.

Although I graduated in tourism in university, I enjoy travelling but I prefer living like/with locals. For me a deep conversation around a meal is the best experience.

I am canadian, my first language is french but i did part of my studies in english, and I am fluent.
I now work as a university teacher (contractual teaching ( team management, communication, change management etc.) in a small rural town in Québec, Canada.

Busy mother of three energetic boys (14, 16 and 18) I have (still!) a lot of energy and very good organization skills, I always have a lot of projects and ideas. I love mountains, rural life, wilderness but I'm also a very social person. I like long trekking, snowshoeing, camping, backcountry skiing, painting, kayaking, fishing and picking up mushrooms.

One skill that I am really proud of is that I adapt very very quickly. I am kind and easy going and you won't have to ask us to do my share of work (personaly I like when workawayer see the things and that I don't always have to ask, "can you help me with this or that"... ).

I am talkative, and like to laugh as much as possible. I like people but we can also be very independent and organize my own things according to what's happening (go with the flow!).

I don't like to be on my phone (most of the time I don't know where is mine). I want to live the present and feel it with our feet and hands.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Renovation skills: my partner and I renovated an old abandoned house (200 years old), a bungalow, and recently bought a very big land and builted a remoted cabin off grid. During building I am normally in charge of design, planning, sanding, painting (and cooking!). I can use power tools with a light coaching.

Creativity: I have a good sense of design: i have a lot of experience in painting (walls or artistic murals), restoring old furnitures and I love upcycling old materials like barn woods.

Land maintenance and gardening: I love to maintain forest trails on my land, but I am learning (I have not the knowledge but I love it!). At home I have a good knowledge of wild herbs, mushrooms and plants. I am really patient and hard working and I can do fruit picking and gardening (removing weeds etc.)

Cleaning: Ok this a strange interest I know, I enjoy cleaning other people house, even deep cleaning, I find much more interesting than cleaning my own house ;)

Cooking: I can cook for an army or almost (don't expect typical canadian dish as I am more in asian, indian, thai food...).

Animals: I am born in a small farm and I love taking care of animals
