はじめまして、オーストラリア出身のサラ（咲良）です。よろしくお願いします！
(ウォーキングホリデービザも持っています)
オーストラリア国立大学でアジア研究を専攻し、日本の文化・歴史や日本語を学びました。2026年2月に卒業予定で、とても楽しみにしています🎓

去年の初めには、秋田国際教養大学に6週間滞在して、その期間に弓道も始めました。
家では日本語を話す機会がほとんどないため、会話力はまだ十分ではありませんが、ぜひたくさん練習したいと思っています。

オーストラリアでは泳ぐコーチとして働き、競泳選手としてもトレーニングしてきたので、体を動かすことや規律を守ることに慣れています。また、清掃の経験もあり、みんなが快適に過ごせるよう、スペースをきれいに保つのを楽しんでいます。

手を動かして何かを作るのが好きで、クラフトや創作活動を楽しんでいます。スケッチを描くほか、最近は水彩画にも挑戦しています。音楽も大好きで、ピアノを弾いたり、レコードを集めたりしています。

植物の世話が特に好きで、庭仕事を通して土や自然に触れる時間も楽しんでいます。将来は、空き家やそれに近い日本の家をリノベーションすることにも興味があります。もしWorkawayでそのような機会があれば、ぜひ挑戦したいです。いつか日本の家で暮らすことが目標です。

Hello, I’m Sarah from Australia. Nice to meet you!
(I also have a working holiday visa)

I studied Asian Studies at the Australian National University, focusing on Japanese culture, history, and language. I’m very excited to be graduating in February 2026 🎓

Earlier last year, I spent six weeks at Akita International University, during which time I also started practicing kyūdō (Japanese archery).
Because I have very few opportunities to speak Japanese at home, my conversation skills are still limited, but I would love to practise as much as possible.

I work as a swimming coach in Australia and have trained as a competitive swimmer, so I’m used to staying active and disciplined. I also have experience with cleaning and enjoy helping keep spaces tidy and welcoming for everyone.

I really enjoy keeping my hands busy, whether it’s through crafting or other creative activities. I like sketching, and I’ve recently started exploring watercolour painting. I also love music, play the piano, and collect vinyl records.

I especially love taking care of plants, and I enjoy spending time in contact with the soil and nature through gardening.
In the future, I’m also very interested in renovating an akiya or similar traditional Japanese houses. If this is something available through Workaway, I would be excited to take on the opportunity, as I hope to live in a Japanese home one day.

Through Workaway, I’m really looking forward to contributing while learning and connecting with people.
