Description

Hey! We're Samuel and Casey, a couple from Yorkshire in the UK who are currently 10 months into our working holiday in Australia. We're both 25 years old and have loved every second of our time in Australia so far!

Before we arrived in Australia in January, we spent 4 months backpacking around Nepal, Thailand, and Vietnam.

Since arriving in Australia, we spent 1 month in and around Melbourne - with 3 weeks of that being spent doing a Workaway on a small family farm. We then spent 6 months working at a roadhouse in Westmar, QLD. Following our time working, we spent 1 month road tripping around New Zealand, before beginning a road trip along the east coast of Australia - from Port Douglas to Sydney.

We will be spending October at a Workaway in Sydney, before heading to Adelaide in November and back to Melbourne in December. We are looking for Workaways in both Adelaide and Melbourne.

Before quitting our jobs at home to start our gap year, Samuel worked in Recruitment for 2 years after graduating from university with a degree in English Literature, and Casey worked in compliance for a global law firm and ran a very successful bakery business in her spare time - called Flour Power Bakery!

Samuel has travelled to 33 countries, with highlights including completing the Everest Basecamp Trek in Nepal, spending 6 weeks travelling across Colombia, climbing an active volcano in Guatemala, and spending 2 months in Thailand training Muay Thai. Samuel's hobbies include hiking, golf, muay thai, and reading (putting his literature degree to good use!).

Casey has travelled to 23 countries, with highlights including spending a season working as a Resort Manager for TUI in a Ski Resort in Andorra, following her favourite band Pearl Jam at gigs in 3 European countries, and skiing in Italy, Austria, France, and Andorra. Outside of work, Casey loves to bake, spends a lot of time painting and doing anything creative, and loves going to concerts/gigs with her family.

We plan on staying in Australia for another year and are keen to see as much of this wonderful country as possible. We've loved our time in Australia and can't wait to see what wonderful things we get to experience next!

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Baking - Casey runs her own baking business and is skilled at making cakes, brownies, cookies, flapjacks, etc

Cooking - both of enjoy spending time in the kitchen and we're happy to lend a hand cooking, if needed

Driving - Casey has a drivers license (international) and has 6 years' experience driving manual.

Manual labour - both Sam & Casey are fit/active and are comfortable working outside and putting a shift in.

Sam is a huge sports fan and follows his local football team Bradford City religiously. He's also a big cricket fan, and is hoping to get tickets to watch England (hopefully) win an away Ashes. He also follows F1, boxing, MMA, and Tennis.

Casey has been fishing since she was little and has coarse fished all across Yorkshire and the UK, as well as carp fishing in France, and big game fishing in Cape Verde and the Canary Islands.

Sam also enjoys playing running, reading history books, and is always open to trying new things and exploring new opportunities.
