Hello! I’m Sam, a curious and adventurous person who loves exploring new places, learning new skills, and meeting people who see the world a little differently.

Nature has always been a big inspiration for me. I love spending time outdoors, discovering new landscapes, and learning about the ways people live more connected with their environment. Over the years, this curiosity has led me to explore things like sustainable living, permaculture, traditional skills, and different ways of building a more self-sufficient lifestyle.

I’m someone who enjoys working with my hands and getting involved in whatever needs to be done. With a background in electrical work and practical problem-solving, I enjoy building, repairing, creating, and learning how things work. Whether it’s helping with construction, gardening, maintenance, cooking, or learning a completely new skill, I enjoy the process of figuring things out and being part of a team.

For me, Workaway is not just about travelling and seeing new places. I’m looking for meaningful experiences, interesting conversations, and the chance to learn from people who are passionate about what they do. I love sharing knowledge, exchanging stories, and becoming part of a community, even if it’s only for a short time.

In the future, I dream of creating my own community project where people can come together to live, learn, and create something meaningful. I don’t have all the answers yet, which is exactly why I’m excited to learn from different communities, cultures, and people along the way.

I don’t know exactly where every adventure will take me, but that’s part of the fun. I’m excited to discover new places, meet inspiring people, and collect experiences and skills that will shape the path ahead.

I’ve always been someone who enjoys learning how things work and figuring out how to create, repair, and improve things. I may have many different interests, but they all come from the same curiosity: understanding the world around me and learning skills that are useful in everyday life.;)

Electrical & Technical Skills
I have a background in electrical work and enjoy working with systems, tools, and practical problem-solving. From wiring and installations to troubleshooting and repairs, I like the challenge of finding solutions and making things work again. I’m comfortable working with my hands and enjoy learning new techniques from people with different experiences.

Handyman & Practical Skills
I’ve always enjoyed fixing and building things. Whether it’s maintenance, small repairs, construction projects, or helping improve a space, I like being involved and finding practical solutions. I’m the kind of person who enjoys picking up a tool and learning by doing:)

Herbal Knowledge & Interest in Nature
Besides my technical background, I have a strong interest in plants and natural ways of living. I studied herbal knowledge in Belgium and learned about different plants, their traditional uses, and their role in food and wellbeing. While my knowledge is mainly based on European plants, I’m excited to discover the plants, ecosystems, and traditional knowledge of other places around the world.

Curiosity & Perseverance
One of my biggest strengths is my curiosity. I enjoy being a beginner, asking questions, and learning from people who have more experience than me. When I start something new, I like to keep going until I understand it and can do it properly.

I believe every place and every person has something new to teach me;););). Whether it’s learning a traditional craft, helping with a building project, working in a garden, or discovering a completely new skill, I’m always excited to contribute, learn, and grow.

Outside of work and learning new skills, I enjoy many activities that keep me connected with creativity, movement, and nature.

Music has always been an important part of my life. I taught myself how to play the piano, and I enjoy using it as a way to relax, experiment, and express myself. I believe creativity is an important part of a balanced life, whether it’s through music, making things, cooking, or learning a new craft.

I also love spending time outdoors. Walking, running, cycling, hiking, surfing, climbing and simply exploring new landscapes are some of my favourite ways to recharge and discover new places. Being in nature gives me a feeling of freedom and curiosity, and I enjoy learning from the environments and cultures I encounter.

One of my biggest dreams is to create a life that is more connected with nature and community. I’m interested in exploring different ways of living more simply, sustainably, and intentionally, while still sharing knowledge, skills, and experiences with others.

In the future, I hope to use everything I learn along the way to help create spaces where people can reconnect with nature, learn practical skills, and build meaningful connections with each other.;););)
