Description
We love doing all things DIY and helping people out! We have had loads of pets and currently have a dog, a chicken and a cockatiel between us and we have so much compassion for animals and their wellbeing!
We are very happy to get involved - get hands on and get stuck into tasks wherever help is needed on the day. With anything you need help with, we are very eager to learn new skills and give it a go and experience different ways of living! We love challenges and find it very satisfying to finish a task to the best level of quality we can!

Quelles sont vos compétences ?
I, Olive am 19 and am currently nearing the end of my Physiological Science course at university, alongside taking part in clubs including Wild Swimming and volunteering with young children at a group with Girl Guiding, which I have been part of for 12 years. My jobs alongside university I have had include working in primary schools, nurseries and at science summer camp, sharing my compassion for wildlife and creativity to inspire young minds. I have cared for 1 hamster, 5 chickens, 3 rabbits and the cockatiel, amongst helping caring for friends and families pets during the holidays including a horse! I have a passion for creating and upcycling, with mending clothes, painting and giving damaged materials a new lease of life! We have also made all our pet enclosures - ensuring they are big and safe for happy animals! My dad and I made an enclosure for rescuing wildlife and nursing them to health - which included a squirrel, sea gull and pigeon. I am also not afraid to get my hands dirty and enjoy caring for my 21 house plants and vegetable patch over the pandemic. I learnt to a basic level of French at school, and am currently learning the basics of Italian, to better immerse myself in my grandparents Italian village's culture.
I (Sam) am currently 20, studying music at college as well as working in a music bar; music has been a very big part of my life and love to explore music from around the world! I have many other interests as well such as languages - I have studied French on and off throughout my life, while I'm not at a very high level, I have a very big desire to properly pursue it (as well as other languages) and want to have a better understanding of it by the time I next go to France! I love animals, I have a dog myself and have had a hamster, chickens and fish! I'm very into anything active like running, swimming, surfing, skating, cycling etc which would be great to incorporate within a workaway project. I have some experience in gardening - in particular, growing food and making dishes with the food, as well as land maintenance such as mowing and tree/shrub cutting. I also have a bit of experience with trades work like carpentry and painting (mainly home stuff) and I also help out with my family business at a marina doing a lot of the above gardening/trades jobs there as well. I have a lot of passion for self sustainability such as growing my own good quality food and being as least wasteful as possible; generally doing things for myself like making things instead of buying them and cutting my own family member's hair! I love doing all of above and am very eager to learn new skills too!
We both volunteered for some conservation work - pruning and weeding in our local woodland and using the sticks and natural resources to make habitats for the wildlife. We love sharing meals we make together - our favourite being homemade gnocchi and fresh pesto! We are both very enthusiastic about the opportunities to expand and share these skills with our next adventure!

We love travelling and exploring new places - we have been best friends for around 15 years and we have ventured to different places across the UK together and across the world separately. We are very eager to explore as many places together as possible, as well as learn about different cultures, ways of living and hear people's experiences!
