Byron (that's my government name-I go by Cynthia): Hello, I'm Cynthia and I'm one of the older siblings in a family of 7 and I've lived in Peniche for the last several years. I also have two dogs and I really enjoy animals overall. I'm just graduating high school (turning 19 soon) and beginning a gap year where I'd like to learn about farming, permaculture, and any topics around conservation to see if that is a field I'd like to pursue in the future.

I've been involved in the past at Quinta Salir do Porto where I've participated in youth camping and outdoor activities such as biking trips and doing ocean clean ups. The activities are hosted on a farm so I'm quite comfortable with rural settings.

I'm pretty relaxed , and easy to be around. I'm a bit introverted but I really enjoy people. I love nature and photography.

While I don't have a lot of experience with farming tasks, I'm up for anything and want to learn. I don't mind hard work. I just need to be instructed. I help out around the house quite a bit and help take care of my siblings, two of whom have disabilities.

Peter (I go by PJ): I'm the older brother in my family and have a lot of experience caring for pets as we have fostered high needs dogs here in Tbilisi, Georgia. We moved here 10 years ago from Nova Scotia so I've grown up in and am comfortable in cross cultural settings.

We are doing this as a pair because we are best friends for the past 6 years since we became good friends through living internationally in Tbilisi Georgia. PJ is visiting Portugal for a few months so we can have this experience together.

We both have experience navigating international situations since we have lived outside our home countries for many years.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

For me (Cynthia), I have a good amount of experience with childcare because I often take care of my younger and disabled siblings, as well as being generally experienced with housework because I help out whenever I can. I can also cook fairly well since I do meals for my family of 7. I'm a photographer (not the best one but I very much enjoying taking pictures). I'm also just very willing to do most types of physical labor.

As for PJ, he is a good physical laborer having done some work on farms. He's also worked on an archaeological site where he lives in the Republic of Georgia! He is currently studying a lot in environmental sciences. Both PJ and I are really good with tech.

Interestingly, we both have experience with dogs who have seizure disorders, so have practice being calm in messy, challenging situations with animals.
