Hi there,

My name is Ronja, I am 18 years old and after I had finished High school, I went to South Africa, I wanted to learn more about cultre, and I wanted to improve my soft and language skills. I like the idea of workaway, working and traveling, getting work experience and -at the same time- meeting locals, seeing the country, monuments and nature.
During my eight month travel and my workaway experience, it got more and more important for me to not stick on working hours, but just help, where help was needed and to keep an open relationship.

First, I went to Kwa-ZuluNatal, to work as a voluntary assistent in a school for four month. Beside my work in the boarding hostel of girls in the age of 13 to 18, I was teaching German in primary school and helping in the kindergarden. I really enjoyed the work with children and teenagers, teaching, doing sports, games and taking care of them.
After this, I went to work on a farm near Cape Town. It is an organic wine farm, giving wedding services. I helped in the garden, as well as in the kitchen, preparing weddings and serving during weddings, which was a lot of fun, but also a lot of work!
I also worked in a lodge at the Zambesi-river in Namibia, which I really enjoyed. I painted some rooms, helped in the kitchen and with the serving, prepared houseboats for tourists and just took part in the daily life.
Later, I worked as an au-pair in a house in Zimbabwe, teaching the twelve-years-old daughter and helping to renovate the house, and to prepare food.

I am interested in many things and would like to learn as much as possible during my time in other countries.
I like to work with pation and concentration, but for me it is important to keep smiling.
In my free time, I love to do sports, to be in nature and to meet people.
