    Description

We are a new permaculture farm located on an island (Biliran Island) in the Philippines. The place is created through the hope and vision of the owners, David and Lany (German-South American and Filipina couple). They did their PDC Immersion in Thailand. The sanctuary is set to continuously evolve into a regenerative farm, paired with wellness activities such as freediving, yoga, meditation, sacred ceremonies, foraging courses, survival skills, organic Philippine cooking and holistic tourism.

Landscape: The area has a magnificent view of the blue ocean, islands and the towering hills and mountains. A visitor will experience waking up to the sunrise and ending the day with the sunset view. The lot has a small waterfall and is surrounded by many river channels. You just have to enjoy and use what these spots can offer example meditating at the front of the land with the view.

Who and what we are looking for:
We are looking for a total of four volunteers (two couples, 4 singles or one couple-two singles) who have the curiousity, willingness and open hearts to help us build this new permaculture project.

If you plan to stay longer, we can talk about discounts.
    >If you have knowledge about permaculture and organic farming, it will have a huge impact.
    >We are glad if you have skills in homestead gardening, building, conscious designing, natural healing modalities and survival skills.
    >Those who want to experience a laid back, simple, back-to-basics and natural lifestyles are welcome to join.

This is not intended as a cheap stopover or a place to save money while traveling.

Participants are expected to contribute with their skills, energy, and presence, creating an intentional and respectful living environment.

Currently we are building the community or chill area out of wood and bamboo from the jungle.
We are also building our big community kitchen out of bamboo/ferrocement.
At the same time we are planting seedlings and preparing the gardens for rainy season.
We have a few chickens and 3 hens are hatching eggs so we will expand the fence and build proper chicken houses.
So you could help us with construction, planting, gardening, watering, mulching, composting etc. and feeding our animals.
If you could help us manage our social media that would be great, we really suck at this.
We cook with firewood so we need to gather and chop our own firewood.
We cook Philippine dishes and intentionally eat mostly vegetables, but we are NOT vegetarians and don't always offer alternatives.
We spearfish sometimes, so we eat fish/seafood, too.

    Notes:
Volunteers follow a natural, community-oriented daily schedule that includes farm work, cooking, childcare (when applicable), DIY, wood/bamboo building, Filipino lifestyle hands-on and learning activities. The environment is flexible but rooted in responsibility, organization, and respect for the land and community. Tasks flow with the sunrise and sunset, allowing volunteers to immerse themselves in nature while contributing meaningfully to the permaculture project.

  • Hébergement

    Hébergement

The atmosphere is laid back, simple, and natural.
    We have basic native huts.
We provide an A-frame hut, a jackfruit house, a big dormitory for 4 people, a rounded bamboo hut and spaces in the unfinished dome. We can also provide one smaller tent for you.
There are also spaces for hammocks and tents because the lot is 30, 000 sqm wide. The village still shows the basics of living. One cannot expect much convenience but anything can be acquired.
There are online shops like Shopee, Lazada or Temu and orders are easily delivered to Biliran. There are local markets (15 mins) and big shops in Naval town (45 mins). Atm is about 20-30 minutes away from us but we always recommend Remitly. We recommend downloading remitly and picking up money at Cebuana though, it's easier and faster.

You can enjoy a dip in the rivers and waterfalls or explore Biliran island on your free time. You can also learn the kind of life from local Philippine province life. There are transportation options for you: renting a motorbike, taking a passenger motorbike, jeepney, bus or van.

    For transportation:
The best is to take a motorbike hire or Bajaj which costs between 50 to 200 pesos to the nearest town, atm, market, bakeshop, parks, beaches, sights, clinic and offices. Renting a motorbike is also possible. Always don't hesitate to ask us if you need to go down from the village.

Additional rules for volunteers at our host location.:

    >Avoid illegal substances
    > If you are sick before coming here, better get well first because we have a baby.
    > No loud music after 10 pm and before 9 am
    >Alcohol is up to a limited consumption atleast, no hard drinks and no alcohol drinking with the villagers until 5pm. We are a community so we have to be taking care of each other's well-being.
