¡Hola! Actualmente estoy en un viaje prolongado de mi trabajo como maestra de escuela primaria. He trabajado en educación durante 10 años en Inglaterra, pero disfruto de un tiempo libre y espero adquirir habilidades y experiencia en varias áreas.

Durante los últimos 2 años viajé por Centroamérica, recorrí algunas rutas del Camino de Santiago de Compostela, trabajé en una finca de olivos en Italia y estudié español en Sevilla mientras trabajaba en un albergue allí.

La atención plena se ha convertido en un foco para mí a medida que me alejo de la vida urbana y me acerco a una vida más rural. Me encantaría ser parte de proyectos que se centren en el medio ambiente, la comunidad, las culturas locales y las artes. Estoy dispuesto a ensuciarme las manos y estoy interesado en desarrollar habilidades y conocimientos en torno a la construcción y la permacultura.

Continuar practicando y desarrollando mi español también es un objetivo clave para mí en este momento. Me interesan los intercambios lingüísticos y culturales y, como fui profesora, estoy feliz de compartir mis habilidades en arte y música, ¡y cualquier otra cosa! Me gusta dibujar y pintar en mi tiempo libre y toco la guitarra, el piano y la batería. El surf también me hace muy feliz y ¡me encantaría descubrir nuevos lugares!

Hi! I’m currently on an extended travel break from my job as a primary school teacher. I have been working in education for 10 years in England but am enjoying some time off and hoping to gain skills and experiences in a number of areas.

During the past 2 years I have travelled through Central America, walked some routes of the Camino de Santiago de Compostella, worked on an olive farm in Italy, and studied Spanish in Sevilla whilst working in a hostel there.

Mindfulness has become a focus for me as I move away from city life and towards more rural living. I would love to be a part of projects that have a focus around the environment, community, local cultures and the arts. I’m willing to get my hands dirty and am interested in developing skills and knowledge around building and permaculture.

Continuing to practice and develop my Spanish is also a key focus for me at the moment. I am keen for language and cultural exchanges and, as I was a teacher, am happy share my skills in art and music as well as anything else! I like to draw and paint in my spare time and I play the guitar, piano and drums. Surfing also makes me very happy so I would love to discover some new spots!

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Soy un maestro de escuela primaria calificado y con experiencia del Reino Unido. Durante los últimos 10 años he trabajado como profesora en escuelas de Londres. También he enseñado en el extranjero como profesora de escuela primaria en Sri Lanka y como profesora de inglés en China. En los últimos dos años me especialicé en la enseñanza de arte y música en escuelas primarias.

Además de mi trabajo en el sector educativo, también tengo mucha experiencia en funciones de hostelería. He trabajado en muchos bares y hoteles, y más recientemente pasé 6 meses trabajando en un albergue en Sevilla, España, donde trabajé como recepcionista, cocinera y barman.

También he tenido experiencia trabajando al aire libre en jardines. Durante los veranos, mi amigo y yo establecimos una pequeña empresa que realizaba trabajos sencillos de mantenimiento de jardines en casas de mi zona. Más recientemente, ese mismo amigo inició su propio negocio de jardinería paisajística. Hemos trabajado juntos en algunos trabajos que han incluido plantar, construir macizos de flores y colocar patios. Obtuve una gran sensación de satisfacción trabajando con mis manos en proyectos como estos y me encantaría continuar desarrollando mis conocimientos en esta área.

Cuando realizo tareas, escucho atentamente y me concentro en completarlas lo mejor que puedo. Disfruto trabajar solo o en equipo y siempre estoy dispuesto a aprender y desarrollar nuevas habilidades.

English:
I am a qualified and experienced primary school teacher from the uk. Over the past 10 years I have been working as a teacher in London schools. I have also taught abroad as a primary school teacher in Sri Lanka and as an English teacher in China. In the past two years I specialised in teaching art and music in primary schools.

Aside from my work in the education sector, I also have a lot of experience in hospitality roles. I have worked in many bars and hotels, and most recently spent 6 months working in a hostel in Seville, Spain, where I worked as receptionist, cook and barman.

I have also had experience of working outside in gardens. During summers, my friend and I set up a small business doing simple garden maintenance work for houses in my local area. More recently, that same friend has started his own landscape gardening business. We have worked together on a few jobs which have included planting, building flower beds and laying patios. I gained a great feeling of satisfaction working with my hands on projects like these, and I would love to continue to build my knowledge in this area.

When undertaking tasks, I listen well and concentrate on completing jobs to the best of my ability. I enjoy working on my own or with a team and am always willing to learn and develop new skills.

En mi tiempo libre me encanta dibujar y pintar. Siempre llevo consigo un pequeño juego de acuarelas y me gusta pasar piezas de mis obras de arte a las personas que conozco. La música también es una parte importante de mi vida. Toco la guitarra, el piano y la batería (y trato de cantar un poco). Me interesa la música de otras culturas y me encanta ver y descubrir bandas y artistas de diferentes géneros.

Realmente disfruto estar en la naturaleza; es algo que busco cada vez más después de vivir en una gran ciudad por un tiempo. Me gusta caminar y correr en la naturaleza para sentir una sensación de conexión con el mundo natural y sentirme más presente dentro de mí. El surf también es una de mis pasiones. Estar en el mar y las olas es una especie de experiencia meditativa para mí, así que si estoy cerca del mar, ¡es una ventaja adicional!

English:
In my spare time I love to draw and paint. I always carry around a small set of watercolours and like to pass on pieces of my artwork to people that I meet. Music is also an important part of my life. I play the guitar, piano and drums (and try to sing a little). Music from other cultures interest me and I love to watch and discover bands and artists from different genres.

I really enjoy being in nature; it's something I am seeking more and more after living in a big city for a while. I like to walk and run in nature to feel a sense of connectedness with the natural world and to feel more present within myself. Surfing is also a passion of mine. Being in the sea and waves is a sort of meditative experience for me so if I am nearby the sea that's an added bonus!
