Description

Hi there! My name is Raven and I am 22 from Minnesota, USA. I am currently at home and planning my travels into the southern states.

I have experience in greenhouses and working in gardens, operating power tools, and recently now with sheep. I’m interested in expanding these skills as well as tackling any new tasks! I’m looking to strengthen my skills in the kitchen, with animals and in carpentry.

I work two jobs back here in Minneapolis. One in an upbeat and busy Indian restaurant as a server. There I have cultivated my strong people and team work skills. I love working in groups and with new people. However I also am happy to take on projects solo, and enjoy the freedom of working independently.
My other job is at a preschool/daycare center where I work with a variety of age groups from newborns to 10 year olds. I enjoy working around and with kids and would love to stay with a family.
This last spring I graduated from my local community college and am planning to continue my degree in the social work field. I’m passionate about supporting others and strengthening my community and get involved by organizing events and clubs.

When I’m not in school or working, I’m out and about. I’m an experienced traveler, and have been across parts of the States and Central America and Europe. I love seeing new places and meeting new people. I like the great outdoors and spend a lot of my free time biking, camping and exploring. I like hands on projects, yard and maintenance work, I am a fan of digging in the mud! I enjoy getting my hands dirty and “roughing it”, I am happy to sleep in a tent and use a compost/outdoor toilet.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I have skills gained from my other experiences through Workaway such as working in greenhouses, operating power tools and working with animals. I have built doors, compost bins, and renovated a chicken coop into a tool shed. I am excited to widen my skills and will bring a positive energy to all new tasks!

I have a lot of experience in the service industry, working at restaurants and small shops for the past 6 years. I can work efficiently in intense, fast paced as well as more meticulous environments. Through my work in the service industry I have collaborated with all kinds of people. I have strong skills in de-escalating conflicts and in time management.

I am experienced with children and young people. At my preschool daycare I work at back at home, I changed diapers, created day to day activities and did art projects. I also organized programs through my local park doing a variety sports activities.

Some extra facts about me:

I'm an enthusiastic rock climber, in the gym and outside. I'd love to find some fellow rock climbers to climb or to chat with. I love going to live music and I play guitar. I'd be super excited to jam with others or dance along.

I've been slowly getting back into reading for fun, I love a good conversation, adventures and making new friends. I pride myself in being easy going and flexible and I always I keep a positive attitude. A smile can go a long ways:)
