Hey I'm Rebekka from Germany and 23 years old,
I'm once again searching for some place to physically work in the fresh air, enjoy nature and the company of lovely humans and animals.
I love doing all of the above, because it reloads my energies and is the best way to find my peace.

I already worked at a farm after I finished school - there I helped an animal sanctuary for three months - and in 2022 I had my first workaway experience at a farm in the netherlands. During these times I already took care of cats, dogs, goats, donkeys, pigs, ducks, deers, alpacas and horses; and I loved them all!
But most of my experiences come from caring for horses since I was 14. I already worked with old horses, young horses, insecure ones, energetic ones, misunderstood ones and of course a lot of ponies. I started out with learning to ride and discovered how much I love to groom, take them for a walk or train and play with them from the ground, so that's what I am mainly doing right now. (and mucking out is not coming up short ;))
They taught me how to communicate, listen, be patient and kind and no matter the animal, I'm really good at finding the right spot to scratch :)

This year I want to finish my maths studies and have to write my bachelor's thesis in the summer. As much as I love mathematics and working with my brain, I also need to work with my hands and something exciting in my life as motivation. So I thought living abroad and writing at a farm alternating to physical labour would be the perfect way!

I'm sometimes introverted, sometimes extroverted, but always friendly, open minded and responsible :) I also like to paint, read, go for a walk or watch a comfort series.
If possible I would want to eat vegan, if not I would be willing to eat vegetarian too.

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

I have much experience with horses.
I started riding when I was 12, but I stopped eventually, because 'my' pony wasn't fit enough anymore and I'm so happy without it! I love to work with horses from the ground, going for walks and every other way of horse care (I'm very good at finding the best place to scratch ;) ).
I'm patient and calm and because of that I also had always a weakness for the 'difficult' animals. I work a lot with positive reinforcement and clicker and since I motivated a 24 years old pony to run and play again, I'm full in love with this way.
Since I moved away from home, I can only visit him irregular, so I might be a bit out of practice, but I don't forget six years of taking care of my favorite pony that fast.

In my gap year I also worked for 3 months at a animal sanctuary and gained a lot of experiences in farm work: feeding the animals, cleaning the stables, walking the dogs... And I learned to transfer my horse knowledge to many other animals.

I'm not afraid of hard work and also very motivated to learn new skills or just getting things done.
