Hello!

My name is RJ, and I am from the Pacific Northwest. I was born and raised in Washington State, U.S.A. I grew up homeschooled in a rural countryside with my three siblings, parents, and grandmother. I have an Associates in Arts and I am looking to explore and learn before going back to college.

All my life I have been taught the importance of community and connection. My childhood consisted of nature walks, gardening, preserving food, arts, and community. My mother loved nature and my summers were spent camping and learning the names and uses of native plants. Being homeschooled gave me the opportunity to pursue what I wanted, which gave me a lifelong enthusiasm for knowledge and fun.

I have many passions, but above all I love to learn.
I am an artist. I knit, spin yarn, paint, write, play music, cook, garden, sew, sing. I like to make as many things as I can from scratch, in a sustainable way. Doing things by hand is very important to me and helps me connect to the roots of being human. I prefer to making things over buying things.

Health is important to me. I grew up vegetarian. I eat a little meat now and then but for the most part I am still vegetarian. I love to cook! Especially when it is with home grown food. I am very active. I like to garden, hiking, going on walks everyday, yoga, I LOVE swimming.

I always have a positive and can-do attitude, and I work well in teams, or on my own. I am a fast learner, and I am determined and dedicated to any work I set my mind to. I have experience in customer service, sales, management, and executive positions. I have intermediate computer skills, and I am a good problem solver. I love kids and teaching in general. I have experience with community living, and I am a born helper.
I am happiest in places where I am helpfullest.

I am very excited for the opportunity to travel, while also doing rewarding work in the communities of others.

I am a native English speaker and love to teach about writing and practice English. I studied German independently for two years and loved it. I would like to practice with someone who is fluent to get more in-person and real experience. I studied Spanish for two years in college and can carry out a simple conversation. Looking to broaden my everyday vocabulary and practice with native speakers. Would be VERY happy to teach English to a Spanish speaker in exchange for practicing Spanish.I love languages, and I would love to learn as much as I can about as many as I can!

I have been an executive assistant in many different areas. I am skilled at taking notes and coordinating events with a team.
I am an artist, I love to paint and draw and write.
I am very outgoing, and I am good at meeting new people and making them feel welcomed and motivated in a team setting.
I have worked in an office, and I have worked in farm fields in the dirt. I can work alone, and I am effective in a team setting.
I can cook, clean, and have a passion for effective organization.
I have many general household skills such as mending, sewing, knitting, simple home fixes, etc.
I have raised sheep and chickens, have owned cats and I am experienced with taking care of dogs and other farm animals.
I know how to, and I am practiced driving manual transmission vehicles. I know how to drive lawnmowers and tractors.
I am a gardener, I know how to plant and harvest vegetables and fruits.
I am a musician and a dancer.
I have a very positive attitude and I am a fast learner. Whatever the task, I will take it on with joy and complete it to a very high standard.

I have been studying Tae Kwon Do and self-defense for a while now. I love working out, and yoga and LOVE the outdoors.
I write letters. I am looking to find international pen-pals for cultural exchanges and simply to write back and forth with.

I am an avid knitter. I make sweaters and socks and all kinds of goodies.
