Hello! My name is Quinn, and I have recently graduated from Carthage College with a degree in Geoscience and a Minor in Ceramics. I am currently working as a waitress in my home state of Minnesota. I have joined Work Away to connect with new people and cultures and gain travel experience. Some of my hobbies include hiking, baking, and art projects. I'm a hard worker with experience working at a summer camp, cooking, and caring for children, as well as serving experience at a restaurant.
I have previous travel experience, including a Work Away in Montana a few years ago, as well as study abroad experiences in Argentina and Nicaragua, where I was able to practice Spanish and stay with a Host family. I'm looking forward to finding an awesome Work Away experience!

Hello, my name is Hallie! I recently graduated from the University of St Thomas with a degree in Environmental Studies and a minor in Justice and Peace studies. I'm currently working as a MN GreenCorps member with the Pollution Control Agency in the Stormwater & Forestry area. My work has focused on urban forestry, environmental education, community outreach, and climate change mitigation and adaptation. I love to travel and try new things. In college I studied abroad in Argentina for 5 months and in Costa Rica for 1 month, and I loved those experiences because I was immersed in new cultures and was able to explore so many cool places. Outside of travel, my hobbies include art, camping, hiking, and spending time with friends.
I have previous WorkAway experience in a summer camp in Montana a few years ago (with Quinn!) where I worked as a groundskeeper, housekeeper/cleaner, and cook. I'm a hard worker, responsible, open minded, and ready for new experiences!

Quinn has practiced Spanish while studying in Argentina. I am still a beginner, but am interested in learning more! Hallie has studied Spanish in high school and practiced it while in Argentina. I'm at an intermediate level but I've gotten a little rusty so I'd love to be able to practice more!

Quelles sont vos compétences ?

Quinn - I have experience working in a kitchen and working with campers at a summer camp. I also have a lot of volunteer experience doing random tasks, from teaching classes to building houses. The job I have spent the longest at is my waitress job at Perkins, where I have learned hard work and being able to multitask and have customer service.
I also have travel experience from a previous WorkAway at Luccock Park Camp in Montana, where I cleaned, cooked, and did outdoor maintenance. And more recently I was a housekeeper at a resort in Bryce Canyon, Utah.

Hallie - I have experience in environmental work including urban forestry, volunteer management, environmental education, data management, and community outreach. I also have customer service experience from jobs in retail and food service, as well as housekeeping and parks maintenance experience. In addition to professional skills, I've also done a lot of volunteering with different environmental organizations in Minnesota!

Hallie and Quinn have been travel buddies for several years, going to Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, Montana, and several other trips together! We are excited to keep exploring and meet new people and have exciting new experiences!
