  Description

  Hi there, we're Sabrina & Hannes, an Italian-Austrian couple, in our 40s. We met many years ago while we were traveling and since 5 years we live together in Tuscany. We spent several years looking for a house where we could live in contact with the nature.  And finally in 2023 we found it and we completely felt in love with this piece of Paradise.
  This year we decided opening our house to share our experience with other travelers.
  
  ABOUT THE WORK
  We need help with different types of duties.
  Now that the warm season is starting we need to repaint the cellar doors and the external railings.
  We need help to carry the wood from the hill to the woodshed.
  And then there is the ordinary maintenance of the garden, cutting the grass, taking care of the plants.
  Rose lovers are welcome, we have many of them ;)!!
  
  We like concrete and positive people with good vibes. Our motto is "Pura Vida",we love to enjoy every day!
  Please Remember: if we are looking for volunteers it is because we need help ... no additional work :/
  So, everyone should try to be as self-sufficient as possible.... :-)
  
  GETTING AROUND
  It's recommendable to have a car to be free to move in the area, we are about 35 km from the center of Lucca. The nearest train station is in Diecimo, it's about 15 minutes driving distance. The nearest village is 5 minutes by car, there you can just find a bar, grocery and a pharmacy.
  If you're traveling by public transport we can offer to pick up you at the train station.
  
  ABOUT US...
  Sabrina born in Lucca, she is graduated in Peace's Science and she spent several years traveling and living abroad.
  Since last 15 years she is back in Tuscany and since then she has been welcoming guests in the holiday rentals she is managing around Lucca. She enjoy very much meeting new people from all around the world!!
  
  Hannes born in Kitzbühel, after studieng in Innsbruck I worked as a Graphic and Visual Designer in Vienna for almost 20 years. Now I work as an indepentend Graphic and Visualartist, Photoretoucher and Composer in the advertising buisness.

  We are open minded couple that likes to work, meet people and of course eat good food along with a glass of local wine.
  We look for people who come eager to work, learn, share, and with positive vibes!;-)
  
  You will have a lot of opportunities to enjoy life in nature. There are beautiful trails starting from our house for trekking and biking on mountains or through beautiful landscapes. (You can bring your own bikes) The sea is 30 min away by car and Abetone (skiing area) 45 min
  
  We live next to a very special blacksmith born 1938, he is the only one left in Italy who still works like in the Middle Ages. His workshop is runned by the water channel and his own build water wheels where he produces his own electricity or uses the waterpower directly for his tools. For over five centuries the same craft has been passed down in his family.
  It's a unique place and you'll have the feeling of going back in time!

  Aide

  We are offering a private double room with shared bathroom, daily lunch and dinner. Breakfast is not included but bread and other things are always in the house and we are shure you will like the Italian - Austrian cucine;).
  The work consist in 4/5 hours per day, 5 days a week in exchange of accommodation and meals (lunch and dinner).
  
  We are mainly looking for couples who can help us with different duties:
  Wood carrying
  Gardening: grass cutting, plant care
  Painting
  Trail maintenance.
  
  TO BRING WITH YOU
  Bring good shoes like work work shoes, trekking / mountain shoes, long working trousers which can get dirty.
  Even we are positioned in a cooler place for Tuscany conditions you should bring a hat or cap for sun protection, as well sun cream.
  Bath trouser! Because our river nearby serves several places to jump in and not so far away there are nice lakes in the mountains and the sea is near too.

  Barbecue and pizza oven
  
  People who have knowledge of plants and know how to care for them are a big help.
  
  We ask for a minimum of a week stay.
  
  Speaking English, Italian, German or Spanish is required.
  
  Minimum age: 25 years old.

  PLEASE READ CAREFULLY: We need help with outside work. In some periods of the year there may be weeks when it rains almost every day. Obviously this makes it impossible to work outside. Three days before your arrival we will check the weather forecast. If rain is forecast for most of the agreed week we will have to cancel your stay or move it. For this reason we ask people interested in coming to us to accept this condition and to be flexible depending on the weather. Thank you!!
